ANTI Breakdown partE (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Happy new year everyone!

I hope all is well with you and your families and you had some downtime to recharge your batteries! 2024 found me sick in bed with fever, maybe covid. Did not bother to check so I am isolating for a bit on my own now :)

Unfortunately this new year finds us with the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Palestine and my deepest sympathies go to all the victims of this madness from both sides. A big reminder of how little our problems are most of the times and how much we should appreciate every moment with our loved ones. A bit gloomy welcome, but it is what it is!

In this new tutorial, we gonna take a look on how I worked with hair in some of these shots, both in Cinema4D and Houdini (yes I am back with that obsession again lol)

Let me know in the comments below what you think and if you are also interested in me showcasing Houdini again, even in my simple setups. I ve been away from it for quite a while, but I decided to not let it slip completely as it provides solutions that Cinema4D cannot compete in some areas.

Cheers!
T.

Yes for the rig there is a mirror command (or tool?) which is working nicely. I was just wondering, in case of a more complex hand rig, if there would be a one button solution with weights and all that stuff mentioned. Maybe I will find out. :-) Yeah I can feel you - rigging is very tedious. But somehow I also like the technical challenge, hehe.

There is no stupid question, only stupid answers hehe Hand came in poses, so I did a posemorph and the rigging i did was simply 2 bones just for the elbow. It was so easy and took a few seconds, so i dont remember if i did it twice. In a real world rigging scenario, you should mirror your rig to the other hand if it is identical. There should be a command for that in skin sections or weight manager or something. Sorry cant know the exacts as I hate rigging and its something i defo avoid :)

Hey I have a stupid question :D Did you do the rig including elbow xpresso/userdata for the hands twice (L hand / R hand seperately)? Or is there a trick to flip the whole construction with Geo, Rig, Skin Deformer, Xpresso etc?
