Advanced hair dynamics PARTC (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Continuing from before, we gonna see how to add more details to the tearing setup so it starts looking more like cotton.

I think we still missing controls in connectors and I will cross check with Houdini so i can spam Maxon again with my requests :)

Cheers!

fyi the vertex color info, only works to meshes and not splines for the moment. So you need a sweep for the rendering. Cheers

Thanos Kagkalos

thank you, I appreciate it

Thank you! Vertex color is the only way that is supported as of now. Check my last tutorial from 3-4 days ago to see the workflow :)

Hi, you are a well of wisdom, I love your patreon!!!!! I have a question, is there any way to put other material to the letters? Thank you comrade and congratulations for your work.

Hey I think i showed everything of what u describe, both system include and connector exclude. Maybe its in the prev tut but i defo explained everything, even why connectors work randomly etc. Its a complex series and needs attention in every step, i wish i could simplify it further :) glad u figured it out!

Thanos Kagkalos

SOLUTION FOUND (and sorry for spamming the post :P): You forgot to mention that you should get into each connector and expand (in "other objets" rollout) and exclude from each rope tag the other one! EDIT: You also need to exclude the cloth tags in the other system (the planes one, both) in each rope tag of the two systems. Also, you can deactivate "Update Live" and make a button with xpresso to speed up the process of updating the connector setup. I guess would be better if Maxon puts things properly in first terms but... Sorry for the 3 posts in a row.

To put some light (guess this can be confusing), when I duplicate the systems (to fill the gaps) at the moment i update the connector of the planes, all the whole net of segments become yellow (as there are connections placed between all points into the file). If this was a problem of XParticles, i.e, this would be easy fixed using the option of "only in same group" or "only in same system", but i cant figure out why do i have this problem (so does Michael) and you dont... strange. Sorry for my english pls.

Juan Deus

Hello. Let me get in and say i´m having same issue as Michael. Its all about the connector which hooks the cloner to both planes up and down. When you duplicate the setup to fill the gaps, that connector (as its placed as "other objects") takes the other setup into calculation and makes connections between both systems. I did exactly as you did and having same issue as told above.

Juan Deus

probably they dont update proper. Go to each individual one and change something so it updates

Thanos Kagkalos

When I duplicate the setup and then try to update my connectors it messes up; the connectors for the top and bottom pull bars all of a sudden connect the whole spline setup, not just a little bit at top and bottom. What on earth am I doing wrong here... (i am on latest C4D)

Michael

thanks! I figured sometimes depending on field order it doesnt work very well. If u see this issue please let me know!!

Thanos Kagkalos

Haha nice dude! The inverted instance to fill in the gaps is smart man - great stuff! You would think the auto update on constraints would work.. automatically though haha but still killer technique 🤘

Spenser Clark

Thanks! I am haha!

Thanos Kagkalos

you are the best!

Catarina

hahahah i love u bro

Thanos Kagkalos

thanks! Not sure depends if i find more free time this month

Thanos Kagkalos

cheers bud!

Thanos Kagkalos

you are amazing

Awesome series, will the next part be in this month or next month! Thank you for all the wonderful tutorials and tips!

Hoi

Thanks buddy to mentioned me again🤗. Tutorial just a great. Like a new series of my favorite show 😉

Mikhail

thanks mate! glad u find value in them!

Thanos Kagkalos

Brilliant set of tutorials my man! Loving these rope simulations, super eye opening in the the capability of cinema 4d! Many thanks
