Advanced dynamics part2 (VIDEO TUTORIAL)

Hey again,

Well this is "advanced" indeed hehe. As advanced as c4d can be anyways :) Happy to answer any of your questions as usual.

Apologies as it is very lengthy around 45 minutes. I know (as myself also hates lengthy tutorials) but the info is a lot.

Cheers!

hey bud, as this tut was a bit complex, u probably can go with -1 scale after sim. During simulation they will interact.

Thanos Kagkalos

Hey Thanos, how would you approach this to make them appear from a -1 scale value, kind of like a reveal, I've tried playing with the values using a Plain with visibility but when they appear they pop up and deform too much.

Thanos Kagkalos

Impressive stuff!

MUHAMMAD TABISH

thanks I will update with new c4d cloth which is way easier i think.

Thanos Kagkalos

Brilliant tutorial, thank you!

James Clark

Awesome stuff, Thanos! Can't wait for the rendering part, the picture in the sneak peak post looks really juicy

Mikhail Sobolev

yes! more tuts soon-ish.

Thanos Kagkalos

my question is if you can show your texture and lighting process??

Lukasz Pason

nice! Re signal: buggy (doesnt cache proper always) and corrupted some scenes in the past. I stopped using it since 2020 or so. I reported it back in the day when Chris was still at gsg so i never heard back when he left. Its a shame that i wont trust using it again in production cause it made some things so easy!

Thanos Kagkalos

Hey! A paid work around to get fields working with the pressure parameter, is to use the GSG Signal Tag, link the pressure tag and use fields within the tag!

Jerel Northern

yes of course!

Thanos Kagkalos

would you be able to talk about the lighting and polishing of the final result ?

Peter Hoffmann

100% agree. | dont understand why CV is a separate toolkit. And besides the effectors, CV Object manager and CV layers are essential utility things. Not sure why it doesn't work I am still on r23. CV dynamics passthrough doesn't work? Report it on cineversity forums please.

Thanos Kagkalos

Thanos, do you know why Maxon doesn't integrate the CV tools by default with the normal C4D installation? Don't get me wrong, I have a subscription but I find very annoying that some useful plugins can be only accessible via a Cinevercity stuff, which is even own by Maxon. By the way, CV Effector do not work in R25.

Cosma

Hey Dave! Definitely thats a next step. But I would do it after baking and not before. And it would probably be more complex/error prone when it comes to spheres that morph to low poly and all this driving high poly. I think c4d has many destructive steps in that process thats why i didnt get into that part in these explorations. That + I dont have something high poly/detailed hehe.

Thanos Kagkalos

Hi Thanos, greetings from Australia 👍 Great tutorial. Whereabouts in your workflow might you use the low-poly objects to drive something higher-res (such as a similar shaped, detailed object made in marvelous designer)? Would you try and use a mesh deformer before using nitrobake at 36:30? I can see it working easily with the technique shown in video 1 but I'm scratching my head trying to work out where it may be possible with the bake & morph tags etc. Thanks ✌️

David P

It will be on part 3.

Thanos Kagkalos

Lighting setup?

Vedant Hegde

Great video as always!! And happy birthday! Cheers :D!!!
