She GETS to kill her, even with Renna being one of the ‘good’ ones, it’s still treated by the narrative as justified and necessary!! Every single POSSIBLE beat they could’ve stumbled over they NAILED - from this, to not having the BIPOC actress be shamed for being to violent, to /how/ she overcomes Renna in the first place, just!! all of it!!! all of it is so so good!!!!!!

That actress also played Cho Chang, Harry Potter's first kiss in HP movie 5. The woman who plays Min in WoT also played Leaf (the green last of the Children of the Forrest who hangs out with Bran and the other three eyed raven) in Game of Thrones. And of course, Tam al'Thor, Rand's adopted father, was Roose Bolton of Red Wedding infamy.

When you said in earlier episodes that you liked Selene, I kept thinking, oh just wait until you see Lanfear! Did you see how Moiraine needed complex weaves to open and close the Waygate, but Lanfear JUST OPENED IT, simple and fast like it was an automated door at a grocery store? Very minor but effective clue to the difference in their levels of power. I'm on pins and needles waiting for your reaction to the finale!

Tarvalon.net is claiming that there's over 2500 characters. The series is known as unwieldy for a reason, but the fact that it works at all is a testament to his character writing. And yes, Siuan's thing is relating everything to fish 😄

And as a book reader, I give the show FULL CREDIT because they're done an amazing job fleshing out her character and giving her a compelling backstory. We don't cheer her on, but in a way, we are rooting for her. The actress was fantastic in this role, and I think the book readers especially appreciate her. Re: whether you should have known she was a dark friend/Black Ajah, there have been a couple subtle hints you'll see in hindsight, but it wasn't REVEALED that she was on that side until the moment you caught on when they were in The Ways. You found out when you were supposed to, you didn't miss anything. :) I hope you're still enjoying the new Mat. I feel like that actor slid right in and is embodying the character very well.

2025-07-14 16:53:05 +0000 UTCalso i definitely watched your reaction to aviendha's intro fight with my headphones pressed tight to my ears, grinning big asf. if no more moiraine is most of the reason im pissed w amazon rn, no more of smart's avi is a smooth 40% or more of the other reason im pissed. that's my baby girllll right there!! also also LMAOOO at you not realizing liandrin was working for the dark until way after what i'd consider the 'big reveal' (still before they emphasize it so you're good still!). it's a testament to fleetwood's acting more than anything, with how complex and still gray (not fully dark) she comes off even after we see her actively serving the dark!

I’m both horrified and delighted because I had to watch all your reactions and it’s going to get so much better and then stop. I’m glad you already know it’s cancelled. I really, really hope it gets picked up by Netflix or somewhere else. I CANNOT WAIT for your next reaction for the next episode! It’s when I think the show started getting properly GOOD (it was good before, but not GOOD). I say that as a fan of the books--the show gets GOOD right about now. REALLY GOOD. Really. Fucking. Good.
