If you enjoy these opening chapters, you will certainly enjoy the rest of the story. Also, you aren't being charged for this even though it's locked to paid patrons only.

There is an entire sub-genre of readers who absolutely gobble up numbers and stuff, we call this "crunchy" in the LitRPG space.

I didn't see what the utility was of adding the game mechanic to the book - it just seemed to be a tacked on ditraction, but of course it's just a sample so I could understand it being expanded upon later. What does this mechanic add to a book, as opposed to a game? Is it more of a novelty/crossover thing with gaming in general?
