I agree that the dynamics in TFS can take on extra dimension once we consider how the MC was torn away from the town, leaving many loved ones/friends behind. I think that left an impact on many of the characters, especially J. You make an interesting point! In Chapter 2 of Book One, you might have noticed that J is the only character to specifically ask the MC 'what' B is to them. So, a friend, a love, an acquaintance; it's a small yet very important detail. ๐๐ I do agree with you! Most of the characters can respect B's loyalty; some of them even admire this bond. :D

They did, replace J and R, in a sense. If the MC had never left, then maybe their relationship would have gone further (though they now are starting to realise the MC had zero control over it.)Though I also think there would be a respect from them as well, seeing at how loyal B is to the MC. Especially if they find out the MC has had a worse life outside of Fernweh.
