Welcome to the Real Housewives Career Mod!

I’m beyond excited to finally bring this dream of mine to your game! As a long-time fan of the Real Housewives franchise, this mod was created with the goal of bringing the drama, glamour, and excitement of reality TV right to your Sims' lives.

Overview

This career mod is an Active Rabbit Hole Career. Since I’m still learning how to create fully functional active careers, this was my best way to deliver an interactive experience for now. While it's a rabbit hole at its core, I’ve worked hard to make it feel immersive and engaging, offering plenty of gameplay elements to keep you entertained! As a first-time modder, I’m continuously improving and learning. So, if you encounter any bugs, have suggestions for tweaks, or want to see new features added in future updates, I’d love to hear your feedback! This is just the beginning, and there’s always room for growth.

What to Expect

In this career, your Sim will truly embody the life of a Real Housewife. From jet-setting to fabulous destinations and making crucial family decisions, to navigating rivalries, launching products, and transforming their appearance, your Sim must do whatever it takes to stay in the spotlight. Each promotion brings new challenges and opportunities to rise to the top of the social hierarchy. Can your Sim handle the pressure and make a name for themselves?

Quick Tips for a Glamorous Start

Before diving into the Real Housewives career, I highly recommend placing down the following lots in your game. These will be essential for completing tasks and fully immersing your Sim in the glamorous world of reality TV:

• Beauty Salon: Your Sim will need to keep up with their look, and regular salon visits will be part of their routine.

• Nightclub: Some objectives may have your Sim hitting the hottest nightclubs, mingling with others, and having a fabulous time.

• Thrift and Bubble Store: Perfect for when your Sim needs a unique outfit or a quick social visit, plus a trendy Bubble Tea to sip while showing off their style.

• Spa: Reality TV is stressful! A relaxing spa day will help your Sim stay refreshed and ready to take on the spotlight.

Starting Your Journey: From Hopeful Star to Reality Icon

Now that your Sim is ready to step into the spotlight, it's time to show the production crew that she’s more than just another hopeful. Your Sim will start their career as a Hopeful Star, vying for a chance to prove that they have what it takes to secure a bigger role on the show.

This journey is no walk in the park—your Sim will have a set of unique objectives and interactive tasks that will help them climb the ranks. From getting to know key Sims in their circle to activating social media accounts and reaching certain skill milestones, each step will push your Sim closer to the limelight.

Work-from-Home Options: Living the Glam Life

Of course, not every day has to be spent on set. If your Sim decides to skip filming or take a day off from their duties, there are plenty of Work-from-Home (WFH) tasks designed to keep your Sim engaged while still living the fabulous life of a potential housewife. These tasks range from hitting the hottest nightclubs for a drink, enjoying a spa day to relax and recharge, or even getting their hair done to keep up appearances. WFH tasks are currently ONLY for Houswife and Villian branches. 

No matter what your Sim chooses to do, each decision brings them closer to becoming the star of the show—or falling behind in the competition. The choice is yours!

Branching Out: Choosing Your Path

Once your Sim has been promoted and finally receives their contract, they will have the exciting opportunity to choose between three distinct branches:

1. Real Housewife Icon

Description:
This is where the cameras never stop rolling, and neither does the drama. As a full-fledged Real Housewife, you'll juggle glamorous events, high-profile relationships, and the ups and downs of being a public figure. Maintaining a luxurious lifestyle while navigating the complexities of fame is key. Can you build a legacy that will be remembered as the pinnacle of reality TV?

Agent:
You will be paired with Agent Nai, who will guide you through the journey, along with a few surprise appearances from special guests! Agent Bam will also help you navigate some shady waters when things get tough.

2. Villain Housewife (Headline Maker)

Description:
Embrace the role of the Villain Housewife, the one everyone loves to hate. Playing the villain isn’t for the faint of heart—it requires strategic manipulation, sharp comebacks, and an uncanny ability to push buttons. As the Villain Housewife, you'll thrive on controversy, creating unforgettable moments that keep viewers hooked. Will you relish in the role and become the most notorious Housewife of all time?

• Agent: You will work with Agent Forbes, who will provide strategic insights, along with special assistance from Agent Harry and some surprise guests to help you stir up the drama!

3. Friend of the Show

Description:
As a Friend of the Show, you're not a main cast member, but your role is vital for stirring the pot and keeping things interesting. You'll pop in and out of the drama, offering witty commentary, stirring up conversations, and supporting the Real Housewives when needed. It’s the perfect balance of staying in the spotlight without being fully submerged in the chaos. How long can you stay neutral before being pulled into the drama?

• Agent: You will be assisted by Agent Mckinze, who will help you navigate the social scene and keep the conversations flowing!

Objective Tasks and Work-from-Home (WFH) Assignments: A Step-by-Step Guide

Let’s run through an example to help you become familiar with how the objective tasks and WFH assignments work in the Real Housewives Career Mod.

Scenario: Your Sim has chosen the Real Housewife Icon path and is ready to take on their first set of tasks.

Step 1: Completing the WFH Assignment

• Hair Makeover: Your Sim receives an opportunity to get a new hairstyle and take some selfies as part of their WFH tasks.

  • Visit the Local Beauty Salon: Your Sim can head over to the beauty salon you’ve placed in your game. Alternatively, if you prefer a home setup, you can purchase the beauty chair and place it in your Sim's home.

  • Get a Hairstyle: Ask another Sim to give your Sim a new hairstyle. This task cannot be canceled and must be completed in its entirety to receive credit.

  • Tip: If the stylist creates a hairstyle you love, you can cancel the interaction to keep that hairstyle. After doing so, the task will change to "Discuss Hairstyle," allowing you to chat about the fabulous new look!

• Taking Selfies: Once your Sim has a new hairstyle, take some selfies to complete the WFH assignment.

Step 2: Completing the Objective Tasks

• Nightclub Adventure: Your Sim must visit a nightclub and live their best life twice as part of their objectives.

  • Head to the Nightclub: Simply take your Sim to the nightclub! Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, dance the night away, and mingle with other Sims.

  • Experience the Fun: Engage with the various activities available at the nightclub, such as dancing, ordering drinks, or chatting with other guests. This part is all about immersing yourself in the nightlife and enjoying the experience!

• Interactive Gameplay: While at the nightclub, think about how you want your Sim to interact with others and what memories you want to create. The more you explore and engage, the more fun and dynamic your gameplay will be!

Filming Events: Where All the Drama Unfolds

Get ready for the ultimate reality TV experience! In the Real Housewives Career Mod, filming events are where all the drama and shade happen. There are four new custom social events specifically designed for this mod, each offering unique interactions and opportunities to showcase your Sim's journey:

1. Housewife Solo Taping

Description:
This event allows your Sim to shine on their own as they film solo segments. Whether it’s sharing their thoughts on the latest drama or promoting their brand, this is a chance for your Sim to be in the spotlight.

• Objectives: Showcase your personality, discuss your latest endeavors, and create memorable moments that viewers will love!

2. Housewife Group Taping

Description:
Gather the cast and let the fun begin! In this event, your Sim will film scenes with fellow Housewives, leading to spontaneous interactions, laughter, and, of course, drama.

• Objectives: Engage in discussions, create alliances, and stir up conflicts to keep the viewers entertained. The more outrageous, the better!

3. Cast Girls Trip Taping

Description:
Nothing says drama like a getaway! This event is all about bonding (or bickering) while traveling with the cast. Expect surprises, scenic backdrops, and unforgettable moments.

• Objectives: Participate in fun activities, explore new locations, and see how the dynamics change when the cameras are rolling on a trip!

4. Cast Dinner Taping

Description:
Dinner parties are notorious for revealing secrets and igniting conflicts. In this event, your Sim will host or attend a dinner that promises to be filled with conversation and drama.

• Objectives: Share meals, engage in deep conversations, and let the shade flow. Will your Sim be the peacemaker or the instigator?

Important Details About Cast Event Filming

While creating an authentic filming experience for your Sim's reality TV journey, I've encountered a few challenges with camera men for the stationary cameras. Here’s how to navigate these details for a realistic filming feel:

Camera Men and Stationary Cameras

As of now, I have tried everything possible to allow camera men to automatically spawn for the stationary cameras, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to achieve that functionality yet. However, I've found a workaround to enhance your filming experience:

• Using the Control Any Sim Mod:

  • I recommend using the Control Any Sim Mod by TitanNano. You can find it here. This mod allows you to take control of the camera men, giving you more flexibility during filming events.

• How to Control the Camera Men:

  • Once the camera men arrive, click on the options to control them from the actions section.

  • Schedule them to go to the stationary cameras you've placed in your lot, filling up their queue to ensure they are positioned correctly.

  • Once they are set up and filming is underway, you can easily remove your control from them and continue playing as your Sim wife while the camera men capture all the action!

This method may seem like a workaround, but it effectively provides that realistic feel of a filming set. I’m hopeful to find a more permanent solution in the future, but for now, this is an easy fix that enhances your gameplay experience.

Updates and the Future of the Mod

As this mod is in its first release phase, I am still learning and growing in this process. There’s always more to add or refine, and I want to ensure that your experience is as enjoyable as possible. Expect regular updates that will enhance this journey, including:

• Custom Interactions: Look forward to unique interactions that bring more depth to your Sim’s life as a Real Housewife.

• New Objects: I plan to introduce exciting new objects to further immerse your Sims in the glamorous world of reality TV.
