I'd like to get your opinion on justifying a gameplay mechanic

Hi all!  Normally, I'd probably make a poll out of a question like this, but in this case, I don't think seeing Yes vs No would help me very much.  I need to understand why people feel the way they do for this topic.  

Here's what's going on.  In my game, every few seconds, a woman will have a "need" that she wants to have satisfied.  You satisfy it by pressing the buttons in the correct order.  After that happens, you currently get paid.  With this money, you can buy new upgrades and things to do with the women in the next level.  In my mind, it's important to be able to earn money from the start of the game, because buying upgrades is fun.  

Keep in mind, none of the women start as hucows and harpies, they transform into them as the game progresses.  The reason I bring this up is, it's not as simple as, "Happy cows produce more milk which earns more money."  That doesn't work because the hucows aren't hucows at the beginning of the game.

The question is, why would you get money for satisfying each need?  I'm trying to justify that.  There are two main ideas I'm considering, but there's probably more than two good ones.  

1. At the end of every day, you and the other farms have a little pageant.  If your women are happy, they have a better showing and earn you more money.  So you don't directly get paid per action.  You get paid at the end of the day.

2. A government auditor is on the farm with you.  She watches everything you do throughout the day.  Just like the government checks quality of fruits/vegetables/meat in this universe, in the game universe, the government cares about the quality and well being of the farm girls.  Each time you satisfy a need correctly, you get paid by the government.

I think these both have their pros and cons.

Pageant Pros

You get to have a pageant!  Nice visuals, etc.

There could be some randomness to the pageant results.

Fun things like bonus points for the "Best in show" winner.

Pageant Cons

I don't like how indirect feedback is.  You do x actions and only get feedback about how well you did when the level ends.  Of course, you could get "happiness points" after every action, but the conversion from that to $ just seems like unnecessary complexity.

I don't feel like there's a strong link between farm girl happiness and how much you'd earn at a pageant.  Usually pageants are more about contestant looks than contestant morale.

Gov Auditor Pros

It's the perfect character to give you the tutorial.  BTW, I don't plan for her to be a stuffy, uptight person.  She'll be bubbly and outgoing, like Ms. Monet.

There's a strong link between your actions and getting $.  The feedback happens instantly.

Gov Auditor Cons

Anything involving the government is kind of boring, especially when compared to a pageant.

I'll admit, my personal preference is for a Gov Auditor, but most of the people seem to prefer the pageant.  But I don't think I've asked enough people, that's why I'd like to get your opinion.

One very important detail: If I were to pick the Gov Auditor justification, there could still be pageants.  Pageants are a fun idea regardless of how I justify why you get money per action.

PS, something I am SURE is on your list already but is near and dear to my heart, is hard harsh throat/face fucking. Making the submissive/eager/struggling girl take it hard enough to make balls slap her chin and rattle her brain is A+++ for me. Especially with pigtails or horns or other good handles to really grip and pull at full ramming speed. Of course this also is a great place to have some nice breathplay, as she chokes on the cock, and/or is held down on it, balls deep as he cums, her throat spasming rythmically on him to milk out every drop as her world focuses down to just staring up at him. May be you already decided- but I would see selling pussy juices, or videos of their being made happy, as the way you get that money. The idea of combining the Govt agency and Pagent, could also work. It could be that the government has a monitoring and reward stipend in place, part of an "Farm Stimulation Bill" and the pageant could still be used as a bonus- your happiest best girl in whatever category you have this week, could earn you a bonus. It starts off tame, then goes for skills or fetishes or Hucow etc. If you did go the video route, when you have the girls do the pageant, it could be the picture/dialog or animation of the "winning event" displays- and that by winning that pagent it gets added to a CGI/Scene gallery. Kind of like a trophy shelf. This way even the tamest, or lewdest, of fetishes and events could be a goal for people.

They're there willingly, but like a cow, they don't have any money.

I like both but I would use pageant as bonus event every so often. I also think that getting paid at the end of the day is more realistic and upgrades could be done during intermission between levels. Also while I prefer the Gov becose I find it more realistic it still feels a bit forced. I think since the girls are there willingly you could be paid by them. The farm would essentially work like a camp or hotel, so you are paid based on girls satisfaction.

Your idea is intriguing, but in my mind, it's important to get paid per action instead of EOD or EOW. In Diablo, you get a reward for almost every enemy you kill, be it XP, Money, a trash item you can sell for money, or good equipment. I think it's important that this game rewards as frequently. It's a little weird to me that after you feed Kira, she'd give you a rock, and then the next time you feed her she'd give you a coin. Where's she keeping all this stuff? It does make sense that they could give you this EOD or EOW though. I'll consider that. It might also be fun to have a "finding" stat for the girls. PS: If you hold down shift when you press enter, it won't submit.

I think it would be more fun for the play to be able to buy an upgrade after the very first level. Someone proposed that instead of a government auditor, it could be a guild member. Even if nothing changed beyond that, I think it's a lot less boring. The problem with an experience ranch hand is there's no reason for you to receive money from them after every action. That doesn't mean it's a bad idea, just that it doesn't solve this problem.

Another option I thought up that may fit is to have them give you an item of some value , dont know everything about the game but could be stuff from a field or a town like a random coin they dug up, a peculiar looking rock, some seeds with which you could also also a little bit of rpg leveling by giving each person a finding stat so as the game progresses and things get more expensive your people get better at finding stuff so when you do a good job instead of rocks and stuff they may find a mobile phone or if you want to be slightly less lax with the realism have them find other stuff that realistically they never could have found but pretend they did and have like a rare collection where isntead of just selling the stuff you can also save the best bits such as if one finds excalibur or a rare ancient chest full of gold, you can sell it for lots or save to fill out your collection . There are obviously still a couple of issues with the idea mainly being that while each action increases the chance of finding something good you firstly dont get something until you finish the cycle so while each action goes towards the reward each action itself isn't rewarded. there is also the problem previously alluded to of while its not necessarily entirely fiction and impossible for the people to keep finding all this random stuff it is very much a stretch and while I know the game involves hucow and harpie transformation which is fantasy it just depends where you draw the line. The final thing which not necessarily a problem but to be considered is you would need to come up with a fairly long list of different valued items to find to try and reduce some of the repetitiveness of getting the same stuff over and over. Also sorry for wall of text when I tried separating into paragraphs it just submitted the message instead. on a final note if not interested in other ideas or dont like this particular one, then out of your two I much prefer the auditor as the day to day income for actions and the pageants as like a weekly or monthly chance for a bonus

Does the money need to be cash in hand? Hang a clipboard on the gate for each subject with an annotated list of needs met and an estimate of the $$$ you'll receive on the next pay cycle (weekly/quarterly/etc). Players can plan around upcoming costs (and the status bar could show the expected cash in hand on the next accounting day). New small businesses starting with government loans are often given access to advisers with the money, so the Auditor could be a Startup Counselor, or a liaison from a VC firm that invested, or a representative from one of your buyers vetting that you're using Organic(tm) techniques, or a third-party rating organization (that you're potentially paying for their evaluation and assistance...), or an experienced ranch hand you've inherited from another farm that knows the best ways to treat stock without knowing the business / logistics / strategy side of the game so they can recommend actions that you'll have to compromise on.

I don't mind if there are pageants but as an actual justification, the government auditor makes much more sense - its a really good reason why npc farmers would care about the girls welfare as well. And perhaps if you keep consistently high standards government sends perks or new equipment, etc.

Why not both? Suggestions on overcoming the cons of the pageant: Give the girls stats. Happiness (obviously), fitness, health, skill, confidence, sexiness, whatever. Your actions bump their stats, and the stats are plugged into a formula (or simply added) to determine their pageant score and thus income. This opens up some fun stuff like outfits that boost certain stats, training, etc. There could be also be events that give a bonus just for the next pageant (maybe the girl does something sexy, which boosts her confidence or whatever). This is important because otherwise the same girls are always the best in every situation and the pageant becomes very grindy. If you want to make it more involved you could also have a stable of NPC competitors that they have to beat; some girls might match up better against others, but you can only enter X number of girls, so you have to examine the competition and pick your girls carefully to maximize income. As for the auditor, well, if this is an H game she should be seduce-able. Having her simply fall in love with the MC would be a little static; maybe she has a thing for hucow girls and you can get the auditor to help you out more by convincing your girls to take care of her. This would allow for interesting day-by-day activities so it does not just become "put 3 best girls in pageant, click next day". The auditor could become even a sort of quest-giver; she might give you money if you can fulfill certain fantasies of hers ("I always wanted to play with a girl with DD breasts" -> you need to enlarge the boobs on a girl and then convince her to play with the auditor, "I always wanted a 3some" -> you need to get the lust/obedience/whatever on 2 girls high enough that they will both want to do it, etc).

Keep the pageant, but maybe have visitors instead of the gov official? Like, school trips or tourists or however you wanna spin it. Not just one person to judge of the quality, but many people appreciating the quality of the girls. And for the tutorial, maybe have an old farmer give you the tutorial before he retires?
