2016-10: Buffet Boys TV Show Sizzle Reel

I forget exactly how this came about, but back in 2016 a production company reached out saying they were interested in pitching a Buffet Boys reality TV show. I wasn't apart of the initial meetings so I never understood exactly what the plan was, but eventually they brought me in as a cast member and hired me to make a "sizzle reel" which is the video you see here.

Depending on the type of show you're pitching, the sizzle reel can be anything from a compilation video to a pilot episode of the pilot episode - it's what production companies use to pitch TV shows to networks. Idk if anyone ever specifically said this to me, but it was my understanding at the time that networks were thirsty as fuck because TV was dying. Action Bronson had his Ancient Aliens tv show at the time and it seemed like networks were interested in heading in that direction. Spoiler alert, the show got picked up by MTV almost immediately and they budgeted a Pilot episode, but we ended up not moving forward with it because people decided they didn't want their lives to be dramatized like that. More or less, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze (For me it was absolutely gonna be worth it considering how much money they were offering, but I totally understood why people felt the way they did)

The idea for the show was basically, "put these guys in a house for 2 months leading up to a buffet boys music festival" They had it more ironed out than that, but that's essentially what it was gonna be. The proposed cast was: Pouya, Fat Nick, Shakewell, Don Krez, Germ, Mikey the Magician, and Me - I was an add-on and I think my main role was to shoot video for the show, but I was going to be credited and paid as a cast member. So I'd shoot every day like normal and for the 4-5 days a week we had camera crew at the house - I'd be a cast member. And then they'd use my footage as a way to capture more intimate and goofy moments, without the interference from a big/weird film crew.
