Summary: Tony’s tech defies devils, shattering pride and revealing dangerous truths.
"Sir it seems like we have enough information now to create an anti-magic ward that will be capable of neutralizing most forms of magic," JARVIS informed Tony after they went through the books Rias handed him earlier that day.
Tony leaned back in the chair and sighed heavily "But still no mobile version, huh?"
"You know as well as I do sir, the power requirements as well as the advanced equipment will be hard to replicate, even for the bleeding edge armor. The most we can do is condense the virus loaded wave into a single shot that will cut the input of magic into a spell," JARVIS repeated to Tony what he already knew.
Tony nodded gravely "Which will break a spell, or aura for about a minute until the waves in the air dissipate and the caster will just need to redraw their own mana." His eyes then narrowed "Though we can use it to tire an enemy whose strength is based on their magic, by doing so repeatedly."
"I will advise against it unless in dire situations," JARVIS offered his own advice "Such amount of anti-magic in the air might react poorly and unexpectedly to other casters in the area, allies and foes alike."
Tony could only hum in agreement "Still it will be a useful tool to use against more powerful enemies, so let's program the virus into the watch gauntlet as well, for emergency cases."
"Very well, Sir," JARVIS replied dutifully.
Tony then looked toward a device that was laying on one of his tables and said, "We really should get working on the improved ward system." He then glanced at the screen in front of him showing him the number '57%' "It looks like we passed halfway toward having our own teleportation system as well... though magic constructs may take us a little longer."
Unfortunately, as clear as the books were about the magical system and spells' origin, building a magical system from zero that relies on electricity rather than mana, wasn't an easy task even for someone like Tony Stark.
Luckily, he had plenty of scans and information on teleportation magic which allowed him to simply reverse engineer the specific code of that spell and reapply it in...
His thought train was cut when FRIDAY's voice informed him "An attempt at teleportation from Ms. Gremory. What should I do, Boss?"
Tony glanced at the watch on the wall next to him, which read '00:23'
"Not a usual time for a visit," Tony murmured to himself. Realizing it might be an emergency he replied to FRIDAY "Let her teleport to the back garden Fri, I will meet her there."
FRIDAY's response was immediate "Teleportation approved. I began a loop on the security cameras in the area, Boss."
Tony smiled "Thanks, Fri, you are the best. J, prepare a suit, just in case."
With that Tony left for the garden where Rias looked around, confused. Once she noticed Tony stepping out to meet her, she tilted her head "My teleportation was almost blocked, and then it brought me here for some reason."
Tony shrugged and answered casually "I have tech around that blocks teleportation I don't approve of. Wait..." His voice turned suspicious "Where exactly did you attempt to teleport to?"
Rias blushed and shifted a little before answering a little shyly "Your bedroom."
Tony raised an eyebrow at her and tried to joke the matter off "If you wanted some good time, you should have called first."
Rias's eyes snapped to him, wide but happy "I didn't have much time, they will probably come here soon themselves..."
Just as Rias said it FRIDAY's voice sounded in Tony's ear through his glasses "Another teleportation attempt in progress. Unknown signature, though demonic in nature, and a hell of a lot more powerful than Ms. Gremory."
"Block them, Fri," he said to his youngest AI. Once he received confirmation he looked at Rias with a smile "It looks like whoever you were worried about, did try to break in, but failed."
Rias blinked at him with a slack jaw "Y... Y... You blocked Grafia?! Her power is second to that of a Great Satan!"
Tony smirked and shrugged. Okay, that was good to know for future reference. Though in this case power had no meaning—the ward dismantled the spell before it could form on the property, so the amount of mana put into it didn't matter.
Rias shook her head and said with a small smile "So are you willing to take my first time Stark-kun?"
"No," was Tony's immediate reply.
The smile faded from her face into despair and she asked "Why? Is it because..."
Tony cut her off before she could put herself down "You think I can't tell you are under duress Rias? Sorry, I am not in the habit of sleeping with pressured girls—I prefer them willing and prepared."
Rias sighed and nodded, a small blush and smile on her face. Tony raised an eyebrow at her and asked, "Want to tell me what has you in such a position?"
Rias smiled a little sadly and replied "Not tonight, Stark-kun."
Tony stared at her for a moment before nodding "Fine."
Rias's smile grew a little "Thank you, Stark-kun, really. Can I teleport back now?"
Tony gave her a quick nod—FRIDAY taking it as permission to allow her teleportation—and with a red circle of magic the devil was gone.
"Hey Fri, that signature you scanned, can you compare it to me?" Tony asked after a moment of silence.
FRIDAY took her time to answer this time before she said tentatively "The signature was stronger than Maximoff's during the battle of Wakanda, but weaker than Dr. Strange's"
Tony considered it for a moment "Strange did have an infinity stone around his neck, so obviously she is weaker than him. That means that none of the devils are Thanos level threats. That's good."
With that Tony went to bed for today—he had enough excitement. The nap he took during lessons today wasn't enough to deal with all of that.
Tony was a little surprised when Rias and Akeno suddenly left in the middle of class—he even heard them speaking about sending Kiba to escort Asia and Issei.
Tony just shrugged it off as devil business and was about to get back to sleep when JARVIS reported "The same signature that tried to teleport to the mansion yesterday has just arrived at the occult building, Sir."
Tony froze.
Should he intervene? Rias seemed to know that lady... Grafia she called her... so maybe she was friendly and just dropping by for a visit.
Oh, who the hell was Tony trying to trick here? Rias looked terrified when she spoke about that devil last night. And if she was a threat to Rias most likely she would also be a threat to Asia.
Tony sighed and stood up before saying politely "I apologize sensei, but an urgent matter came to my attention and I must leave."
The teacher, who was used to Tony sleeping during her class, blinked at him and nodded. Tony took it and left the classroom.
The moment he closed the door he spoke to Jarvis "J, open the listening device in the occult club room."
Tony began heading toward the old building where the occult club always met when the voices inside the room reached his ears due to the device he left back there the first time he visited "lower yourself to such shameful standards, Rias-sama." An unfamiliar female voice spoke calmly.
"I will be the one to choose who and when I lose my virginity—not you, father or brother gets to choose that," Rias snapped back.
Before anyone else could respond a new, male voice spoke "Ha, it's been a while since Riser visited earth."
Just at the same time Jarvis reported again "A new magical signature appeared in the club house, demonic, its strength is slightly over that of the fallen angel Zakariel."
Tony hummed and commented "So strong, but not overly so. To me at least—Rias will be out of her league with this one."
Tony picked up his pace as he entered the old building, he returned his focus to the conversation just in time to hear the female voice introduce the male "Riser Phenex, heir to the Phenex house and the fiancé of Rias-sama."
Tony skipped a step, almost falling. So this was what everything was about. A forced arranged marriage! Tony always hated those.
He was by the door of the club house when he heard Rias's voice from both behind the door and from his glasses "I told you I refuse to marry you, Riser, so unhand me right now!"
Tony's anger snapped when he heard the bastard's response "Now, now Rias, you are going to belong to Riser soon, you should take care how you address Riser."
Tony double tapped his watch, and while the nanites enveloped his arm, his glasses switched to thermal vision.
In the middle of the room Rias stood with a tall man holding her thigh in his clutches. The rest were sitting on the couch behind where Rias stood, except one lady who stood behind the two from Tony's point of view.
Tony aimed his punch at the specific point and punched it as hard as he could. The door went off its hinges, and before anyone could process that Tony already opened his palm and let out a high-power blast aimed at the wrist of the man.
The tall, blonde devil yelped in pain, as his skin was blasted away and drew his hand close to his body.
Rias stumbled back and everyone looked at him with shock as he strutted into the room, in typical Tony Stark fashion.
His body might radiate confidence and relaxation, his smirk was smug, but his gauntlet was primed with another blast ready to go.
Tony had to hide his surprise when flames enveloped the man's hand and a moment later he was healed without even a scratch.
Aha, regeneration. Useful trick. Oh, Phenex, phoenix... Tony got it now, like the immortal bird. But no one was immortal.
Not even Thanos, with all the stones was above bleeding and dying.
Riser glared at Tony with hatred and snarled "Who is daring to harm Riser?!"
Tony smirked wider "Why me, didn't you see it happening? You might want to go check your eyes too, fried chicken."
Riser's face went past red straight to purple—he gathered his flames and screamed "You dare insult Riser Phenex! Look Rias, as your servant burns for his insolence against the great Riser."
Tony aimed his gauntlet at Riser in return, but instead of the blue light of his usual blast, the repulsor glowed with pure white light, of an anti-magical wave, not that anyone knew that, with his smirk in place "Try that, and I will kill you right here and now, saving Rias the need to bother with you."
"Stark-kun/Stark-san/Tony-kun!" the audience yelped.
Suddenly Tony could feel a shiver going down his spine—if he was any other human, the pressure he could now sense in the air would crush him to the floor, but this pressure was nothing compared to Thanos's with or without the stones.
Riser though didn't seem to be so immune as his flames flickered and almost died off.
What followed was a clear threat from the calm female voice "I am here as a representative of Lucifer-sama, I will not allow such actions to progress any further." Tony could then feel her gaze burning holes through him as she added "Especially by an insolent human who has no part in this matter. Both of you stand down, or I will have to intervene."
Riser gritted his teeth, both took a step back, his flames completely gone now and he reluctantly accepted "When told so by the ultimate queen herself even Riser dare not object."
Everyone looked at Tony, who refused to lower his hand. Rias's worried voice began speaking "Stark-kun..."
Her voice turned into a gasp that joined many others, as instead of lowering his arm, Tony changed his aim from Riser to the woman on his left.
It was the first time he had had a good look at her. She was average in height, silver hair that was braided in a fancy fashion, blue eyes and wearing a maid outfit. Her own eyes were wide, and lips pursed thin.
Tony's smirk grew sharper, and he replied mockingly "Sorry old lady, I don't take orders well, especially from maids. I'm on a higher level than that."
Yelps of outrage came from four voices on his left and one on his right. Grafia had her eyes wider than ever before, before they narrowed into thin icicles and she growled "Insolent human, if this is your choice I shall obliterate you where you stand."
Tony heard Riser's cackling on one side and Rias starting to plead on the other one.
Tony smirked and released the white blast—Grafia was hit with it dead center, and her aura was completely gone at the same moment.
All the pressure she created in the air was gone too, leaving only a room of slack-jawed devils.
Grafia herself looked like she saw a ghost. Her skin paler than usual, eyes wide, and jaw dropped she could only stutter "H..Ho... W...Wh..."
Tony flexed his fingers, smirk in place and voice smug "The next shot will be lethal..." Bluff "If you have something interesting to say get on with it, otherwise I have better things to do than indulge an old maid, and arrogant chicken."
