Here's one of those mini-improvements that you might find useful. Like many of us, Darq Side member Forestchild is a former ProfitUI user and he was missing the ability to cancel a spellcast by clicking on the casting bar. He tried dropping the ProfitUI window into DarqUI, but making that work is like trying to solve a Chinese puzzle blindfolded. So the best solution was to purloin the feature. (*casts Stealth*)
You now have an updated Casting Bar (including a new XL size!) available on the premium server. The click-to-cancel feature is not enabled by default, but can be turned on in the Window Manager for any character:
![]()
It's pretty straightforward -- when you cast a spell that you decide to cancel, click the bar. Yes, you can configure your settings to do the same thing by hitting [Esc], but [Esc] can also do other things that you might not want to trigger.
On that note, when you click to cancel, the current spell queue is not cleared as with a number of other DarqUI elements like Group/Raid/Threat. This is on purpose. For example if you are running a macro with multiple spells, the next spell will fire instead of canceling everything.
![]()
While I have you here, I also want to point out that the DarqUI Casting Bar can also display the enemy (target or implied target) casting bar which can be quite helpful. This bar is located directly below your own casting bar, in the same window, and can be enabled by resizing the window vertically.
You can grab the edge of the window while casting a long spell like Call to Home, but the easier way is to display a "ghost" sample of the casting bar while you're not in combat or casting anything. Click the checkbox to toggle the fake casting bar:
![]()
Easy! Using the fake sample is also the easiest way to relocate the window. And finally, font sizes will change with the size of the window. If you need spell names to be more readable, or if you don't need the window to take up so much space, just resize it vertically or horizontally, or both.
![]()
(Large (L) size is shown here. All three sizes have appropriate font mappings.)
