Really, if he can get 10 wins as a shin-sekiwake, I think that would be phenomenal. Almost always when a rikishi wins the yusho and jumps up to their highest rank they end up struggling just to make kachi-koshi. I think he has a very bright future.

2024-07-27 14:46:01 +0000 UTCOnosato is on track to be an ozeki in November actually, he won the last tournament with 12 wins at komosubi, 9 possibly 10 wins this tournament at sekiwaki, if he gets 12 next tournament he’ll be at 33 wins even if he loses tomorrow
