Hullo Sammich - Inkwash
Added 2020-12-22 01:41:09 +0000 UTCThe colour flats for the 'hullo Sammich' image. Not everything is colour-balanced yet, and I've put in only the basic shadows and light sources just to figure out a general look for the picture.
Soot's colour scheme took ages to figure out. I knew 'purple' was a major factor, but couldn't figure out what her dorsal/alternat colour would be. Turns out its kind of an aquamarine.
I'll be working on the refinements and painted parts over the next week or so. Things have finally calmed down here enough to let me set aside more time in the day to just 'hide and paint stuff'. While I'm still a bit burnt out on ideas for new things to sketch, the old brain seems okay with doing colour passes on things :)
I hope you all are doing okay, and are at least having a safe holiday period.

It does indeed! I remember the purple, though I wasn't sure if it was contrasted by a yellow, or a green, or some other colour. I had to just go with something that suited her in the end. Now to see about painting on some scale patterns o.o

This year has been such a wild state of flux for so many. Hoping that the new year will treat you well though and more work can come along.
