Tiny Tank (barbarian) final

I'll have to call this one done for now. Its around the 20 to 22 hour mark for painting, probably about 28 hours from sketch to final.

It still makes me want to explore the gnomes and elves of the world. I've always liked the more fey/high-fantasy parts of the genre. Its probably why movies like Labyrinth or Legend are some of my favourites. While I don't have any more gnomes or commissions scheduled for this month it might be something I draw from time to time down the line.

I veered pretty far off of the Warcraft model this was based on, proportionally (My style tends to lean a little more balanced in those terms, less stylized), but I tried to keep the height about right, and as far as I know gnomes can't be all tattoo'd up in that game.

I'm currently looking into a place to post writing. I don't really have a spot to make longer form posts about the world(s) or even just thoughts on various things. Wordpress is a possibility, or I might just start posting some writing here. Part of the reason I'm wary of posting to Patreon is that older posts tend to just end up in a place that you have to scroll for weeks to find again, even with tags, that can be daunting.

But, its also a place that is free and convenient, plus I'd like to share with you all. The writing won't always be about the world/places/people here, but they won't just be mindless rants or anything either. I've had thoughts on everything from games to movies I'd like to get down in some form.

For now I'll be working on getting the next image ready for a painting. I still haven't finalized which one I'll be doing. There's a few I wanted to try but they're not 'speaking' to me on a creative level just yet (as pretentious as that might sound). I'll pick something though!

Remember what ever you stick on the web. What is not on your machine is not yours. Never use the web as a primary storage. Ask the former users of Topica. I say former because one day in 99, I think, Topica was not there anymore. Gone, toast, if you did not have your website at home it was gone. Great was the wailing and gnashing of teeth. A run there was on sackcloth and ashes from those that had trusted a webhost with everything. Another option is wikia, AKA Fandom, https://www.fandom.com/home. The advantage to a wiki is the searchable database and categories. You also get easy editing of existing documents. My two: The Vista City Wiki https://vistacity.wikia.com/wiki/Vista_City_Wiki TrekCreative Wiki: https://trekcreative.wikia.com/wiki/Trek_Creative_Wiki

I'd thought of maybe doing a forum while researching places. I had one a while ago but it disappeared due to very infrequent use. I think that's what I need to consider first: Is this something I'm going to update often, or is it a passing thing. I appreciate the offer though! I'm still considering what exactly I'd be going for. So far, in part, I'm looking for a way to archive some of the varied story/world/weird stuff going on in my squeaky-wheeled brain. I'd like a way to be able to search via month as well (Wordpress was very good about that, I found, where you'd have the calender year set up with daily linked posts). I know of a few people who post writing/journals via Patreon as well. I haven't really looked up how that works for them, but might peruse through some of their posts (if public) and see if things are at least reasonably easy to find. I'd like to give folks here at least an inkling of the story behind some of the imagery I sputter out into the world, but at times I feel like I'd even want to post about anything from games to movies as well. I'm not too sure that Patreon would be a good spot for it since I don't want to clutter people's notifications with stuff they aren't interested in (Mainly the art side of things). For now, I'll see which way I want to go though. I might just intermix more relevant ramblings in with the art here on Patreon, or maybe see if I can even log into the old DeviantArt site I had. Anything relevant I did post would always be cross-posted here though, since its the core of folks that want to know anything about the world. Thanks so much for the heads up, and the offer! I'll see where my train of thought ends up about doing writing more often. :)

I hadn't really thought of DeviatArt for doing story posts. I'll have to look into the site again. I haven't been there in ages and ages, but I remember finding the interface a bit cluttered and confused. I'll check again though! Thanks for the heads up!

Would you consider a forum? I would give you a corner of the Olde Phoenix Inn if you like. Or again I've kept a website for over 20 years now. Maintenance on that is not terrible. UIf you wantot post work and keep it from slowing being buried, the website is the best bet.

I post the stories I write on DeviantArt. It works for me.

I have been posting some longer stuff on DeviantART, but the Politically Motivated Ones have been running rampant there, lately. Take a look around, but WordPress might be better suited.
