Sylvianne's Low Lantern Rest
Added 2018-02-05 19:07:03 +0000 UTCA sketch for Sylvian who was last month's Patron on the monthly sketch list. I found it amusing that January was unofficially a 'draw birds' month and the random name-draw name program picked someone who, in fact, wanted me to draw a bird!
I still love drawing forest/outdoor scenes, this one at a rest-spot lit by small lanterns hanging on the low curls of strange trees. Its one of those pictures where I can imagine the character just wanting to escape from it all and re-connect with the world.
And feathers.
So many feathers.

Also have to wonder, who maintains those lanterns? Keep them lit and going? Clears the brush, etc.

Once a year, I work at a festival that has a midnight luminary walk. We don't hang up lanterns like this, but there are lights and it's in a forest. It's really something special. I wish we had trees with branches like that though. would make hanging those lights a lot easier. ^_^ I love how you added a little bit of background to it as well. Thank you for posting.
