Weekly Update - Number 4

Another week already!

This time around I'm going to do a bit of an FAQ about the upcoming comic.  Some are questions posed by folks from various sources, others are just things I'd like to answer/clear up.

What is this comic going to be called?

As of right now I don't have anything but a working title for the series.  I'm calling it 'Driftwater Shore' until I'm ready to pin down a better title.  I'm unsure if I want to use a common-language name for a comic taking place in a land where most names are a little more exotic, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Where does this series take place?

This series will be taking place on a set of islands collectively known as Qiuloa.  Specifically it will be taking place at a place near the south-west shore in the Laon Mai area.  There will be much tiki-madness.

What will the series be about?

Summary version:  About some disturbing things happening on one of the nearby smaller islands, and about one of the characters (A Lorrnath - equine folk) learning to adapt to Qiuloa's ways and customs.  Plus a bunch of plot-points in between.

How long will the series be?

Right now I can't say for sure.  I'm still in the process of finishing the thumbnailing and writing of the first issue.  Let's just say at least 2 issues and beyond for now.

Will the comic be in colour?

Yes, full colour.  Not in the usual 'painted' format that I usually do most of my art in since it takes absurd amounts of time for me to get a painted image done, but a happy medium of line art and colour.

Will the comic be available anywhere for purchase?

No.  There are no plans on printing this series, or selling through a publisher.  This is a Patreon exclusive comic, and it won't appear on any of my other galleries outside of promotional examples.

Will the comic be available to all tiers?

Yes.  From $1 Patrons to $10, I'll make the comic available to all tiers.  I'm extremely grateful for everyone's pledges and help, and I hope this odd little comic is an appropriate thank you.

What resolution will the comic be in?

Right now it will be at 72dpi until I see how it reads on various screens.  However I will also likely be posting 150dpi pages at a slightly later date (perhaps as a collected 'book' of sorts).  The 150dpi will also be made available for all tiers.

Will the comic be available for comic reader software (CBR, CBZ, etc)?

Initially, no.  Until I learn how to format things into that kind of software I'll be posting each page probably as full quality .jpg.  But I plan on looking into formatting the book into a way for the reader software to read.

When will pages be posted?

Unfortunately this is a one man operation, and the comic competes for my time on other work related projects as well.  When I get into the full swing of things I'd like to at least have a minimum of between 2 or 4 pages finished per month, but would like to aim for much more than that.

What sort of genre is the comic in?

Fantasy.

Any NSFW material in this comic?

As a fair warning here, yes.   But a short answer is that there won't be egregious gore or overtly explicit material since neither of those things fit the genre or story I'm writing so far.
