Weekly Update - Number 3
Added 2015-05-23 04:08:26 +0000 UTCAnother week has flown by already! This will be another short update, as plans are still in the same general place they were last week. I've started to acclimate to the new tablet. It took a bit of getting used to, but I'll have the fixed colour updates uploaded soon. I was so used to adding a post-fixup-routine to all the art I did on the Cintiq to fix the fact that Cintiq's have a film on them that adds a false contrast to images created on them. They then look too faded or muddy on most IPS displays. - Maps - I was curious if people here would want to see some of the maps I make of Felwroth. I've been creating more of them these last couple of months just to flesh the world out, but haven't really been posting them to my usual haunts. - Commissions - Definitely still pushed back. Instead of a set time when I can open them again, I'll have to leave it at 'for the foreseeable future'. Part of this is due to some family illness issues that have me putting in work in other areas to pick up the slack, and part is due to a pretty heavy workload already. - Comic - Still pushed back too. I'd love to actually start next month for sure. I won't have quite the backed up schedule that I have now (crossing fingers that family health remains steadily better!). If all goes well with the first comic, I might have other stories I'd like to get out in the format. I admit to being very naive in comic creation, and haven't got a clue just how much work it will take. I know it will be a lot of work, though! And am looking forward to working on this in a huge way. That about wraps it up for this week. I should have more to post about next week when I'm prepping sketches and images for posting! Thanks folks! And have a good weekend! -T.J.

Cool! I'd be curious to see those maps :) I'll see what I can do for a tutorial sort of thing. I don't have any reliable video making software that can record as I'm working, and while there are free alternatives the ability to edit looks like another hurdle. But I can put together a stage-by-stage guide I think. Most of what I do is stitched together from a half-dozen other tutorials, but it seems to work fairly well!

2015-05-27 16:37:52 +0000 UTCI have always had a fascination with fantasy world maps, and I would LOVE to see the maps you create. I would also love to see your process for creating the maps. I have my own map but its really basic and I'd love to make it better. I made mine by finding some map generation program for some game I never heard of that created images I could copy/paste to Photoshop and I just did that over and over with random pieces of land and water that I stitched together. It works for reference, but I would love to have detail!
