Episode 182 - Super Sunny Sails and Exploring Remote Greek Islands with our Salty Sea Dog!

This week we heave to during a very hot sail to swim in the very deep, cool, blue Aegean Sea which is hundreds of meters down and quite spectacular to swim in! Much later after our cool down we complete our sail into a fabulous little bay and anchor surrounded by white beaches, turquoise shallow waters and have incredible fun with the kids and dog exploring our new home for a few days!

The seas in general were very warm like having a bath! But that enclosed salt water lake was boiling!!! I’m Guessing it only gets connected to the sea in big storms/ spring tides etc! So it sits there shallow and salty baking in the hot sun for mths! It was only just bearable to put your feet in! Crazy!!! Unless there was thermal springs there? But I didn’t see any? I don’t think so? Iv never experienced water that hot before in nature!! 🤗

2024-02-06 00:13:46 +0000 UTCYes it is definitely 100% a very crappy BREXIT thing!!! We only get 90 days in the eu and we wasted loads of them fixing our gear box at the beginning of the season! It is one of the saddest parts of this season I absolutely LOVE Greece, I could stay a life time…. We weren’t allowed! Thankfully we get to sail back to Greece after 90 days out of the eu in Turkey tho, and we get to explore lots more Greek islands then 😃👍👌😉🤗 x

I see places that I know pretty well through your eyes and experience. It's great. Antiparos for example is a beautiful island with a well known camping, near where you pointed for your anchorage. Where the hell do you find all these deserted beaches? lol Can't wait for more videos. You are passing through pretty fast. One week and then turkey? is it a visa thing? don't tell me BRExit doesn't allow you to enjoy Greece ?? :-)

2024-02-05 22:47:29 +0000 UTCJust a little note as I'm watching another great video... greek translation for you: nisos = island {and it is the archaic version. in modern greek = nisi} . @06:00 you are sailing near the island of Serifos. if you see the map many islands have "nisos" in front of them... so you don't miss of all the places you visit! I continue the video now. :-)
