James, I totally feel you on the driver test! In Michigan, we didn't have a flashing yellow arrow for left turns until about 15 years ago. In 1999, it was a flashing red light, so technically, you were required to stop at the line, and then turn left, even if there was clearly no oncoming traffic. And EVERYONE always just went through it, especially if there was a line. I don't mean a regular flashing red light with cross traffic, this was for left turn arrows, and no one coming at you. But apparently, those testers took the whole "stop for a flashing red light" thing seriously. I think there was just one or two other states that had that, and now they've gotten rid of it, although there's a couple floating around. And by the way, a great reaction as always!
