2023-06-17 03:49:25 +0000 UTCno way we lost our leader no freaking way🤯😢i had a feeling we may lose him or we may not. i was on the hopeful side that we wouldn't have to, especially like this. i really was waiting for him to just fly through a window. ugh, this sucks. Now what damage from losing him cause? will the kids all spiral, how many will we lose now with him not here anymore? not looking forward to what happens next

2023-06-16 19:13:51 +0000 UTCThe guy who keeps talking about credit points. I get you think it’s annoying and so do the other kids but I do understand him. In the beginning wasn’t he the one who begged his mom to sign the paper and let him join but she wanted him to stay at home to take care of his siblings at first? That means his mom/his parents aren’t the type to make him do anything he can to get extra credit points like the parents of homie who died in episode 1. He isn’t number 1 (in school? in class?) because of pressure from his parents, it’s all him. He probably had to give up a lot of things for his siblings, getting into the best university and making something of himself was his way out. Everyone is clinging to something to stay alive and to make staying alive worthwhile. He is clinging onto that hope that he can still have that future, the moment he stops believing this he might just give up. This is what I think about him. Also considering how serious the entrance exams and getting into a prestigious university to end up at a big firm is for Koreans. Of course there are exceptions but Korean students get it drilled into their heads that this will make or break their future, for many of them studying to reach that goal is everything and they live in constant competition with each other. I could say a lot about other characters as well but I might need to gather my thoughts a bit more so maybe on the next episode haha. I’ll just say a few things quickly. I understand the creators of the show want to make it clear that the students are just that: students, kids. But I still think they lay it on a bit thick with the stereotypes. Like not paying attention to the important mission because she broke her nail and stuff like that. I wish there was more spaces for tough and strong yet feminine and vulnerable characters in shows. The writers tend to think that the one quality rules out the other. Yes there are a few instances where tougher female characters express their emotions and stuff but mostly it’s just the girls that are portrayed as weaker whining all the time and the tougher ones just sucking it up. Some people might say it’s realistic because they’re kids but I disagree, I don’t think most teenage girls would be this careless in a war situation. Oh and when they found the surviving students there I somehow thought the aliens had found a way to get into their bodies and control them or some shit. This turned into a long comment lol
