I don't know if anyone else is like this, but I always took it that Luffy and Zoro in particular were already pretty close to CP9's strength during that first encounter but they were more concerned with Robin. Then, when Robin told them she was leaving it kind of shook them mentally and they couldn't fight to their fullest, so what CP9 saw was nowhere their full strength in that moment. The thing most people at this point would have forgotten as well is that Pluton is a name we have heard before. All the way back in Alabasta, Pluton was the name of the weapon that Crocodile was looking for and the location of the weapon was supposed to be on the Poneglyph, big blue stone, that Robin had the ability to translate/read for Crocodile.

2024-01-27 05:21:40 +0000 UTCYeah, we found out that she knew the location of Pluton in Alabasta! That's the whole reason Crocodile had her working for him. She could read the poneglyphs, ergo she can find the currently existing Pluton. It's so easy to miss the little details Oda sprinkles into his storylines, but it's crazy how it's all connected

2024-01-26 12:29:29 +0000 UTCThere's currently two methods of potentially bringing back Pluton: 1) The actual blueprints, and 2) Robin. Robin knows where the original one is and the blueprints make it possible to just build your own. The blueprints are the world's only chance for survival if the OG Pluton ever fell into malicious hands. In the worst case scenario, a second one can be built to counter that first one. If Robin didn't exist then the blueprints could be destroyed and thus the threat of Pluton would be effectively gone forever. But Iceburg was concerned that as long as Robin is out there, Pluton could one day return and plunge the world into a dystopia. And therefore the blueprints would need to stay hidden and protected at all costs.

2024-01-26 10:12:24 +0000 UTCRocketman! One of the best trains ever, even though you can't control it and has no brakes lol. In regards with Robin reviving the ancient weapon, CP9/World Government have been telling us that both Robin and Franky have the means to revive the ancient weapon(Battle Ship Pluton). Both for different reasons in which Robin is the only one in the world that can read the Stone Poneglyphs and Franky having the blueprints to make it. So CP9/WG are essentially taking Robin for her knowledge of the ancient text and Franky for the blueprints' location.
