Behind the Scenes #29

What up, mini family?!
Lot's stuff going on this past week, so let's dive right in. As I said in the last post, Jon came over this past Saturday to shoot some stuff, and we got a lot done!

We shot 3 episodes of the podcast and 2 of the episodes are using questions from you guys! At the time of writing this post, episode 2 and 3 are fully done being edited. I'm excited to see if you guys like it. While Jon was here, we also worked on the second iteration of Drunk Minipainting, hawaiin edition!

This was an opportunity for me to test some new gear that we'll be using for Kill Your Friends, namely, the HDMI multiviewer. With the TV in front of us, we were able to pipe both camera feeds to it and see it simultaneously (not that it mattered because the last thing we were thinking about was focus and framing). We also learned some things from shooting the podcast and the drunk mini painting, namely everything should be on AC power. Batteries are too much of a hassle to worry about. So, I'll be purchasing some AC adapters for my panasonic cameras so we don't have to worry about them dying during a crucial recording. I got some goodies this week for Kill Your friends and Adepticon.

This is the multi-viewer that helps us shoot with multiple cameras and see all their feeds at the same time.

I picked up this microphone to make capturing some audio at Adepticon a lot easier. I found a different one that I like more, so I may return this one and get a new one.

I got some PHAT SD cards for long recording sessions. These puppies can record up to 3hrs of 4k footage for my cameras. I also worked more on my crystal brush entry!

I painted the white trim, weathered it, and then oil washed it. Next, I need to take a q-tip with mineral spirits to it to clean it up. I also redid the witch's hair for a 3rd time!

I'm so glad I redid the hair. It looks a lot better and it's amping me up to paint the mini! Also, Todd, my letter press printing patron, started to print me up some business cards!

I'm super excited to see them finished! Last thing, I may end up skipping a video on one of these Fridays for the sake of finishing my Crystal Brush entry on time. I'm not sure if I have to do it, but we'll see how it shakes out. Thank you all for supporting what I do. I endlessly appreciate it <3

Dude. That last iteration of hair looks killer. Nice.

The diorama is really coming along. Hope to see you at Adepticon!

I dunno why I keep messing that up...fixed it!

Looking good, my Man! I'll be edge painting some samples for you today, so maybe we can meet up and take a look at them before I either diecut or trim all your cards and do the edge painting. And also, I'm a letterpress printer, not a screen printer. I think you're eating too much paint. ;-) Keep up the great work on your Crystal Brush entry!

Thanks for the update Scott! Do whatcha gotta do to finish your Crystal Brush entry; I'll just be eagerly awaiting your next video. :D

You really think one Friday is allowing you to finish your CB Entry? If yes, please skip one upload (but give us the Podcasts instead then!)!

Hell yeah, nice stuff you got there. Looking forward to the podcasts and be sure to skip a Friday video anyway just to keep your sanity ^_^

Hell yeah! PAINT MORE MINIS!

Nice update. Been watching your videos for going on a year, and I finally patronized(?) today. I browse several mini painting/D&D related YouTube channels, and is yours is by far one of, if not the most practical and quality bang-for-your-buck channels for inspiration, education, and motivation. Keep doing what you do! And if it comes down to the video or the Crystal Brush entry, see the last line of your post for your answer.
