It's summer! | June 2024 Report

June has come and gone, finally giving a glimpse of the games to look forward to for the rest of the year. Which turns out, is quite a few! Personally, with the proper reveal of Metroid Prime 4 and the addition of Zero Mission, I've been (finally) going through each of the 2D Metroid games so far, and am currently on Metroid Fusion! And Summer Games Done Quick is happening right now, so I'm also tuning into that on occasion...there are a lot of distractions lately. But anyway, updates!

64DD on a Flashcart: The SummerCart64 | Things of Interest

The latest Things of Interest is out! The SummerCart64 was simply something I had interest in spreading awareness of due to the current state of community support for the 64DD, and I hope this (apparently pretty long) look gave you a neat look at the potential of the SummerCart64! As of this report going up, second batch preorders from Phenom Mod are coming soon, with more potential shell colors that people are voting on over on the N64brew Discord! (Psst, atomic purple is one of the options.) Just check the SummerCart64 site for where to find that.

Useless Nintendo Trivia #4

And episode 4 of Useless Nintendo Trivia is out, making it 40 facts that have been covered so far and 47 left in my stockpile!

A recent public comment I received actually expressed concern that apparently these have been coming out too frequently for them, which is a first for feedback I've received! I have been releasing episodes of UNT in-between main channel videos, and so far even with that schedule there's still about a month's wait in-between episodes, so that's probably more of a minority opinion, but it did get me thinking about what you guys think about the schedule so far. Perhaps let me know!

I think for now though, with the latest TOI episode just released, instead of going immediately to working on UNT #5, I want to put more time into writing the next core video first instead, which as you all know is...

Pyoro: The Bird, The Beans, The Legend

Writing and footage recording is still underway, so I can't provide a lot of updates on it at the moment! I guess as of this post though, the leaker known has Pyoro has finally met their downfall and vanished (for now), which means I'll have to finally get this video done before Pyoro loses online relevance or something idk how the algorithm works

I will add one thing though: aside from the official Pyoro minigames that have shown up across the WarioWare series, I will also be talking a bit about unofficial ports of the first entry in the series, as I have access to a few of them myself, one of the most recent ones being...a Playdate port!

...that's it, I just thought it'd be neat to share this! I didn't mention the Playdate in previous reports, but I did briefly showcase it in the latest room tour video. Speaking of which:

Plus videos

Over on the Plus channel, it's finally time for the 2024 room tour video! It happened in June instead of early in the year because of Reasons, but hey, the middle of the year is also probably a good time to do an annual room tour, so maybe the next one will also be done in June! We'll see.
