2023-06-15 15:48:28 +0000 UTCKido's power is based on how well you can control it, Spiritual Energy, and the incantation. You can shorten the incantation but it will be weaker than a full incantation. Also Kubo likes poetry so he puts a good amount of poetic dialogue in Bleach.

2023-06-09 20:36:55 +0000 UTCThere’s an old concept in Japanese culture that stems from Shinto called “Kotodama.” It means the “soul of language” or basically words have a power or intention behind it it will affect the world around you. Positively or negatively. I think you guys were onto something when mentioning Harry Potter spells, cause yeah it’s similar in this series but with a Shinto japanese angle to it. I won’t go over spoilers obviously but some other folks have mentioned why these spells have such long incantations. The author is definitely into poetry and the poetic nature the power words have and how you use them. There’s many other Shinto influences in this series, obvious and not so obvious. It’s not so much about practicality initially, I would just recommend to kinda take a back seat to the length of spells. There’s still purpose behind it.

2023-06-08 01:24:15 +0000 UTCI have 3 things to note concerning both these "BLEACH" eps. 1. English Hitsugaya = Neji. Japanese Hitsugaya = Hanji. As you can imagine, this makes Japanese Hitsugaya (Toshiro) sound way younger in the sub than in the dub. This is one of the reasons I prefer Romi Park doing the voice, but Steve Staley still does a fantastic job. 2. Magic in this universe is briefly explained in dialogue, but getting the full picture of it requires you to remember context clues throughout the series. In Episode 1, Rukia hits Ichigo with a "Bakudo #1, Sai!"; which he eventually breaks out of. Later, against the serial killer hollow with the leeches, she attempts her signature: Hado #33, Soukatsui. This time with full incantation; which doesn't work because she's weakened. Then, in the Shattered Shaft, Tessai tries to stop Ichigo turning hollow by using Bakudo #99 Part 1, Kin, and Part 2, Bankin. BOTH with full incantations. ETC. - Bakudo are binding spells, Hado are destruction spells. Each spell in either category is numbered, the higher numbers are more powerful, and you can fire them off by just saying their number and name, but full power requires full incantation. 👍🏼 3. If you haven't already reached it, then this is probably the final warning. The new opening, starting on Episode 52, spoils someone's bankai as well as a couple other powers that get dramatically revealed later. To avoid these, wait until episode 61 to watch it. Meanwhile, Episode 54 is when you should start watching the after-credits shorts. Look away from the screen as the preview plays (the characters have banter you can listen to that doesn't spoil what happens next), and look back to see Kon introduce each segment.

BUT there's two reasons why I won't argue it or bash every Bleach episode with Sub supremacy when it comes to there Bleach reactions.... 1. It's 6 of them reacting in DUBS and yet they STILL misunderstand ALOT of things and situations, so SUBS would basically be a shit show.. 2. Johnny Yong Bosch as Ichigo really kills it and I've been a fan of his since Power Rangers, so I always support his VA characters as well as his LA characters.

The reason why they added the "red fire cannon" was most likely done to match the lip flaps. To my knowledge this is the only instance where this happens and it doesn't happen again in this arc.

2023-06-07 19:16:04 +0000 UTCMan this dub is so trash, half the episode ya'll just making fun of it and its like im watching a different show from the sub version, why do you keep watching it? why choose the inferior product when it does a disservice to both you and your audience, beyond the goofy dub voices that cant act or just sound like the tiktok voice the dub also adds names and words to attacks making it even dumber, for example Red fire canon is the meaning of Shakkahou but its not said out loud in the sub, only Shakkahou is spoken, this matters later in the show when chants are skipped entirely and only a single attack name is used.
