Rousseau Was Right
Added 2017-07-12 02:11:37 +0000 UTC Hatred.
It does not exist in the void.
It is surrounded by love and empathy.
And they feed it, fueling it in holy ways.
Emotions so dear become whips, barbed and rusty,
Lashing at those cause their opposite forms of existence
To be born,
The flares of the mind intensify,
Judging right from wrong like a nuke bleaching the ground.
Humans are not inherently evil;
Selfishness is learned;
Ambition is practiced;
Callousness is the routine's victory.
Humans are inherently good:
Morality is native to them,
As is critique,
As is sorrow at the state of the world.
Hatred is fueled by this goodness in Man's heart,
And like a phoenix it will never truly die,
Just rise and set like the sun.
