Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!    Spoiler Alert !!!!   Spoiler Alert !!!!Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!

I loved when Blackadder was making up words to piss the doctor off. Baldricks sausage novel was fantastic I need to pick up a copy lol. Poor Baldrick is worried about going to hell for stealing lol. When he said, "Baldrick, believe me: eternity in the company of Beezlebub and all his hellish instruments of death will be a picnic compared to five minutes with me โ€” and this pencil " was one of my favorites lines from this episode.

Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!

As always I would love to read your comments below

Blackadder The Third Season 3 Episode 2 Ink and Incapability

Comments

Definitely one of the top three Blackadder episodes, and great to see a little cameo from Lee Cornes (who played Lister's Paranoia in the Confidence & Paranoia episode of Red Dwarf, and was also an early comedy mentor to Sean Lock) as one of the homicidal poet fanboys of Dr Johnson. Probably worth a mention that this episode was also loosely based on the true story of the 19th century historian Thomas Carlyle, who sent the only copy of his 800-page history of the French Revolution to his friend and literary rival John Stuart Mill for a second opinion, only for the manuscript to be "accidentally" burnt on the fire in Mill's study. (Mill blamed a clumsy housemaid, but there's a fair chance he just burnt it himself in a fit of jealousy at how good it was.) Carlyle had to rewrite the whole book from scratch, which no doubt caused him plenty of frasmotic pericombobulations.

Thanks =]

Somebody's probably already told you but in case they haven't the actor (Robbie Coltrane) playing the doctor here also plays Hagrid in the Harry Potter series.

bex evans

Thanks bud I will have to check those two out =]

After Work Reactions

He performed opposite Stephen Fry in both of them

I know you're not short of shows to watch for the forseeable, but if you enjoy Hugh Laurie he's very funny in Jeeves and Wooster and in a sketch show called A Bit of Fry and Laurie.

Jeremy O Dwyer

That is awesome man I hope you enjoyed it.

I first saw a few of these early series when I was very young and hadnโ€™t seen them since. Of all the episodes this one stuck in my memory all this time

Super Mega Giga Chad

Lol that was a great scene man!

Thanks bud!

Man, the scene where Blackadder and Baldrick are talking next to the fire and Blackadder mentions the soft dangly bits in Baldricks trousers, this my favourite part of all Blackadder episodes, it kills me everytime!

Stuart McArdle

Stuart Little is a little bitch. Those fucking parents man, going to an orphanage with a load of hopeful children, desperate for parents and they choose the mouse. It's a truly sickening story. I'd step on him if I ever saw him. I hope his little red convertible gets car-bombed. There I go getting angry about Stuart Little again.

Ian Webster

This was a great episode I loved it. Thanks for the info bud.

Hahaha, isnt there another picture where the first is him reading it, and then the second picture is the one you linked, the reaction, hahaha

Michael

It appeared you didn't get the "sandwich" joke when Blackadder asked Baldrick to bring him food. The "invention" of the sandwich as we know it (ie. a filling between two slices of bread) is often attributed to John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. (Sandwich is a place in Kent, England) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Montagu,_4th_Earl_of_Sandwich#The_sandwich

Baldrick is an eloquent literary genius with a vast understanding of vocabulary and prose. ;)

The actual real Samuel Johnson has become a popular meme in recent years. You might recognise the picture. https://i.imgflip.com/1dqvqh.jpg so if you ever see it you'll also know who it actually is :)

Danny

The guy playing the poet Shelley was also Dick Head the barman from Bottom.

This might be my favourite episode of Blackadder of all outside of series 4. I think Blackadder Goes Forth is a stronger series all told and I'd say the very final episode is, for very different reasons, the best half an hour of Blackadder you will see, but certainly this is one of my all time favourites. My love of language helps and it's just so much fun from beginning to end. As others have mentioned, that is indeed Robbie Coltrane who played Hagrid in Harry Potter. I rate him more so for Cracker, a brilliant British crime drama series which I don't believe is well known in America. He's recognised as Hagrid the world over admittedly! Love it. Superb episode and great reaction, Josh! I love how you also found Blackadder winding up Dr. Samuel Johnson as funny as I do. "I'm anaspeptic, frasmotic, nay, even compunctuous to cause you such pericombobulations!" "I shall return... interfrastically. " :-D

Ash Jeffries

Best one so far.

Danny

Can already tell Josh will appreciate Baldrick's poetry next series.

James P

One of my favourite blackadder episodes. Thanks josh ๐Ÿ‘

ChrisW

Great episode, thanks for the upload. I hope at some point you do black Adder Christmas carol and back and forth.

james

You might recognise Robbie Coltrane who plays Dr Johnson as Hagrid from Harry Potter

House is great, gets a bit repetitive and like many US shows stayed on the air a fair bit longer than it should have but Iโ€™d recommend trying the first season at least.

I'm the guy who hates Red Dwarf
