Hello,
This post is a bit, well, random. But I thought I'd share this with you for the fun of it, so here we go.
I have a market coming up in December (well, I applied, we'll see if I get in), and I wanted to have a few mini original pieces for sale there, so I've been scouring my local charity shops for little frames, and here's my haul!

I found the golden oval frames first, and then the tiny silver ones.
I then stumbled on the rectangle one with the oval matting, and also found those little wooden coasters which I think could make for fun little pieces. I will need to paint on paper and then glue the paper onto the wood though. I might attach a little hoop to the top of the wood for easy hanging, and they could potentially come as a set? Not sure.

I then bought the square, golden folding frame at the top, which I think I could create a fun little connecting piece for. Or two fictional, surreal family portraits maybe?
And finally, I also got these 2 deep, pink and blue, frame boxes, which I have a specific thing in mind for.
I would like to use them as "floating painting" frames, where the piece is attached in a way that makes it look like it is, well, floating in the frame.
I found these tiny intricately cut pieces of card from Choosing Keeping a while back, and I think they would be perfect for this.

The frames will need a lot of clean-up and some painting first (those colours aren't very..."me"...XD), but I am excited to work on them. You can see the parts where I filled in holes in the pink frame above (the white stains are wood filler) . The side I am using to display the piece is actually supposed to be the space where the backing goes, and it had ridges in the sides to slot the pins into to secure the back. I am reversing the frame so I have some DIYing to do before it is all ready.
This is a bit more of a craft project than a painting project at this stage, but I love this sort of thing so I am looking forward to spending some time tinkering around.
I reckon these small paintings will feature a lot of eyes, hands and maybe faces, and I will obviously take you along with me while I create them in November. :)
And if they don't sell at the market, I will be able to put them up on my shop as small, framed originals anyway.
That's it for my little, slightly random update!
This should be fun!
All my love, M
