But Kripke has done a fantastic job of keeping the humor both dark and funny, highlight the general stupidness of society, all the while hitting perfect notes that touch your heartstrings. I adore this show. But anyone with a thin skin best stick with Disney ‘sups’ because nothing is sacred or above poking fun at on The Boys! I think what makes it work is that it, like many of the great new style of shows, is telling a continuous story where things you might see now are smartly tied with things in later seasons. Like with Fall Out and Game of Thrones, there are a lot more layers to these of the characters and the plots are complex enough to keep things moving with purpose. Also, Keith Urban and Antony Star slay in every episode!

It is very political Espically past season 1. It's definitely unique in its approach, and its style may not appeal to everyone. So if you’re not enjoying it beyond season 1, it’s perfectly fine to stop watching. Everyone has different tastes, and you shouldn’t feel obligated to continue with a show that isn’t to your liking. There are plenty of other amazing shows out there that might be more enjoyable. Ultimately, it’s your choice, and it’s okay to move on if The Boys doesn’t resonate with you. Also the show does continue to push boundaries as it progresses! (I mean this In a respectful way also lol)

It is intended to be dark satire and mocking by the writers, so if that's not your bag then it isn't. If you really despise it and don't want to continue, idk if you should, since that wouldn't be fun even in a thought provoking way, for anyone.

They're the pastors you see on TV who get their viewers to send them money, talk about praying the gay away while they themselves have gay sex with male hookers, and fly in their own private planes. That's who Ezekiel (stretchy preacher guy) is. They didn't show anything that hasn't actually happened or anything they don't actually preach. It's all taken from real life, from real events. Those revivals are real, preachers just like Ezekiel are real, and the corruption is real. The show just added in a few people with super powers.

2024-09-03 18:52:19 +0000 UTCi don’t think they were mocking Christianity but pointing out the hypocrisy in what they preach especially to children–essentially lying to them & how they wrongfully paint LGBTQ in a bad manner now as for the Butcher portion where he’s essentially slandering God, I guess that could be seen as “mocking” but I also think he’s asking viable questions that ppl realistically ask constantly especially ppl that aren’t super religious. then again this is all obviously how the creator of the show feels about Christianity and God & he’s 100% entitled to his own opinion but I don’t think he ever conveyed “Christianity bad” in his messages in this episode

He says "Pray the Gay Away" yet he's having sexual relationships with men. I mean what is Godly about paying $15,000 to meet someone who lies to your face? Its corrupt. They didn't want Starlight or Homelander to be honest. Everything was scripted. It just further shows how fake these supes are. It's my understanding that Compound V is given to the babies to make supes but when A-train uses it just enhances his powers and jacks him up like a drug. More to come on that. I always get stressed when Homelander is around too, even though I know what happens. He is 100% unpredictable. He has xray heat vision, super strength, speed, durability, flight, and hearing. (among other powers yet to be seen) He could read Hughie's B/P and heart rate just by standing next to him, like a lie detector. He can look nice and innocent one second and rip out your heart the next. You just never know which way he's going. There's alot to him that hasn't been shown yet. Remember....the supes main concern is reputation. Vought has cultivated a positive opinion in the public eye. That's the money...the main concern. So much more to be seen...love the reaction and your opinions and predictions! I guess we'll see soon! Thanks guys! Love ya'll!

Butcher was basically asking why do bad things happen if we believe in God? Starlight lied about her virginity highlighting how often Christians lie to maintain that they are pure when it reality we succumb to sin just like anyone else. The point is to make you uncomfortable so you can confront those issues. Just my two cents
