The Bus Project Part 1

It has begun! I have stripped down the bus to its bare bones in order to see how to continue further. This is, as the title suggests, the easy part. After this span of undoing screws I'll have to put some real thought into my next steps. Anybody have a small crane I can borrow?

Also, despite this being a 13 minute video, this is roughly seven days worth of work.

I'd like to say that was planned, but that was pure luck. I don't know if the typical construction is screws or rivets

Aging Wheels

I know you're a clever fellow, but was one of the criteria of the bus you chose that it was all screwed together, vs. riviting? Did you actually plan that far ahead? Or am I that far behind, and all schoolies are screwed up?

I'm really looking forward to the next part!!

That's some dedication. Thank you sir.

It took roughly eight hours to edit the video. It was extremely tedious, but I got the montage cutting down to a fairly speedy process. The actual unscrewing probably also took something like eight hours, but I have no idea

Aging Wheels

How long did it take to edit the unscrewing? Let alone actually doing it!

Even if an impact driver was $1000, it would still be worth it. Undoing the screws for just the ceiling panels would've taken days without it

Aging Wheels

I do need to do that at some point

Aging Wheels

Can you reshoot the outdo with your new and improved trabant?

Hey at least look at it this way imagine how longer this would have been if you didn’t have a drill/impact and only has a few screwdrivers! I remember when I had to replace the sway bar links on my senoma and I only had a traditional open faced wrench and I could only move it a few degrees at a time just those 4 bolts took me 30 minutes where if a had my impact it would have been only 5 mins
