Greetings Adventurers,

As we wrap up September, we're bringing you another entry into our patron exclusive One More Thing line of releases. Design notes from Matthew:
I always love designing things with a singular purpose in mind. I think when you're designing creatures, one of the most powerful things you can do is just figuring out what the creature wants and then catering everything else around that. It's the absolute easiest way to make sure that you're staying on topic at any given time. Funnily enough, with construct that is one of the easiest steps because you know that you're trying to build it to protect something or do a task.
In our 5E version of this creature, I built it to be a bit easier to run than the PF2E version. One of the reason for that is that the action economy is just so different between systems that really giving more options in 5E makes it harder to choose any of them. That's why I built in a more automated stance dance that is done at the start of the turn. It felt like using an action for it was just too punishing.
For the PF2E version, I was able to lean into a bit more with reactions like the riposte while still allowing the defensive prowess of the parry to shine. I haven't seen many creatures out there that implement stance options like this and I find that to be a little disappointing. I decided I needed to be the change I wanted to see with that.

It's the end of September and that means we're quickly approaching our 3 year anniversary of creating on Patreon in December. We'll be heading to PAX Unplugged to celebrate and we hope to see some of your smiling faces at the convention if you can make it!
