Firstly, the VOD for the second Q&A livestream is now available!
I hope you’re all doing as well as you can as this absolutely batshit crazy year starts to come to a close. Even if 2020 hasn’t given people much cause for celebration, we can at least hope for a better future, especially midway through 2021 when we will hopefully start to get this pandemic under control.
For Shattered at least, I’m excited for what’s coming in 2021, but there’s still a little bit of this year left to go. I’m going to share what I’m planning to do for the rest of 2020 in this weekly:
v0.9.1b
Firstly, I’ve decided to do another patch for v0.9.1. v0.9.1b will be a larger than average patch, that’s aimed at keeping me busy on the coding side of things while I do concepting for T3 talents that will be added in v0.9.2. In particular I’d like to take some time and try to fix up some of the various errors in the game on my to-do list. I’m really trying to keep that list to a manageable size, and not let it grow like it has in the past. If there’s a minor thing you’d like me to look into, let me know!
v0.9.2
Concepting for T3 talents continues as well, and I’ve got ideas for some talents that are solid enough to show off. Just like with classes, I’m looking to use talents to improve and reposition some subclass innate abilities. This is both a useful balancing tool and lets me give them a bit more power budget in some cases. Here are a few examples, no talent names just yet, and keep in mind balance numbers are WIP:
- The Berserker is capable of building rage to a max of (110%|125%), instead of 100%. Extra rage does not give more damage but makes it easier to stay at full power.
(innate max rage would be lowered to 100% from 110%) - The Warlock’s soul mark works at (25%|40%) effectiveness when damage is being dealt by a character other than the warlock.
(this is an adjustment/nerf to the current effect, which is a static 40%) - The Assassin’s maximum charged preparation now executes enemies when they are below (75%|100%) health, up from 50%.
(this gives the assassin back his guaranteed kill power from previous updates)
New Year’s Blog
I’m also starting work on the first blog post of 2021, which will of course be titled “Shattered Pixel Dungeon in 2021”. Last year I released this blog around the middle of January, but I’m going to try and push this one up and get it out fairly shortly after the new year. As usual, it will contain a variety of information about what I hope to work on moving forward. Nothing certain yet, but I’m considering being a bit more concrete with my plans this time, as the list of things I want to do continues to shrink.
