Andor Episode 12 *FULL LENGTH REACTION

The final M-Andor Monday!!

Holy moly this was a great episode!!!!!

I cannot say this enough, but the Andor series is so well made!!

Andor coming back and being super stealthy, avoiding everyone, spotting Luthen and knowing his life is in danger even more than before.  The people of Ferrix being badass and going against the ISB!  All of the character interactions, too!  Seeing Vel and Cinta together, Andor finding out where Bix is, Mon having to make a really freaking tough choice, and covering up financial transaction hiccups with her husband's "gambling".  It's just so satisfying to see!

I really loved the whole music scenes, it was really nice!

The ending scenes were also really awesome!   No crazy cliffhanger, just a nice way to tell us how next season will start.

All in all, this was an outstanding season, and I really would like to have Bee as a droid, please!  I'll be rewatching this a few times before Season 2 comes out, for sure!

For this style of reaction, you need your own copy to watch the episode.  Also know there is an extension that allows you to do Picture-in-Picture in case you are interested: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/picture-in-picture-extens/hkgfoiooedgoejojocmhlaklaeopbecg?hl=en

Band of Brothers starts next week!!!

Oh I missed that, that makes it just that much worse and makes sense why the end credit scene is there, thank you!!

Verowak

Yes! I love how Cinta and Vel are so different. They do a great job showing a big contrast between characters

Verowak

Rebelling against the parents by being avidly traditional. That sounds so backwards, they are unknowingly ruining their lives (from my point of view)

Verowak

That is such a hard decision to make, and really shitty that it had to be made. Not everyone is able to make that kind of decision, and live with it. Luthen knows what must be done though, and has to be the one to make tough decisions like that

Verowak

In the end credits scene, the parts that the crab droids were assembling to build the Death Star Mega laser are the sub-assembly hubs that Andor was helping assemble in the prison.

JAKH

I think that the word that you are looking for to describe Sinta is either "militant" or "fanatical".

JAKH

Mon Mothma told her cousin that the arranged marriage wasn't her idea: her daughter had pushed for it. The girls at the table practicing the "old" customs is a group who think they are rebelling against their "secular" parents by being avidly traditional.

JAKH

The sacrifice of Krieger's faction is a WW2 reference: British intelligence broke German codes and learned of a massive concentrated bombing raid on Birmingham (some people say Coventry rather than Birmingham, which was bombed on another night as part of the same German operation). The British government had to choose between evacuating the city(s) or protecting the fact that they had broken the German codes.

JAKH

Oh I'll definitely look at those! I like how the main title theme changed for each episode! Thank you

Verowak

Oh yes it would be amazing if Disney followed this style for future Star Wars content (and anything else they do, really)!!

Verowak

Couple final items to pass along in case you weren’t aware; there are some YouTube videos out there that take the slightly varied main title themes for each episode and combine them into one. This is apparently something the composer and show runner intended as something that actually works. Here is the main example: https://youtu.be/c0hHD-FpcJc There are others that also combine the main titles for each arc. And if you want to get a fix of the all time monologues/uplifting performances from this show, then check out these from the Star Wars YouTube feed: https://youtu.be/TKB67KzjO4A https://youtu.be/-3RCme2zZRY https://youtu.be/-asb8zTiuZ4 https://youtu.be/TaKrm5txGCQ

Congratulations to Verowak for completing Andor Season 1! As you mentioned, it’s definitely worth rewatching so find a friend/significant other who hasn’t seen this (or only seen it once as well) to watch with you, and keep spreading the word on how good this is, so Disney can be convinced to put their money towards quality rather than quantity.

Laxjedi

Thank you!! So Bad Batch can be standalone, that's good to know. Ahsoka will be Rebels season 5?! Now I'm more curious 😁😍

Verowak

Ahh thank you! I wouldn't have known what to do with Boba Fett, but that's good to know now lol

Verowak

I was so on board for this series since I thought it would be like Rogue One, and it did not disappoint!! I'm glad that even though you weren't too keen going into it, that you still did! Mon Mothma and her husband in the car was great!! They're playing 4d chess all the time, and it's scary because one wrong move and it's over. There better not be romance between Syril and Dedra. I think she was just so frantic at the end lol I'm glad I don't look at any news or announcements for franchises, I was much happier going into this not knowing if there would be K2 lol Season 2 will be all kinds of amazing. Things are heating up and again, there are many different storylines to follow. I want to know more about all of the characters, whether they are in the rebellion, empire or other!!

Verowak

Clone Wars -> Bad Batch (optional) -> Rebels -> Mandalorian 1&2 -> Boba Fett -> Mandalorian 3 -> Ahsoka Bad Batch chronologically fits between Clone Wars and Rebels but isn't "necessary" for the shows following it and would fall closer to the standalone type show. Technically Mandalorian can stand on its own without the animated shows, but you'll lose a lot of context with characters and events. Ahsoka is, in the words of the creator, "Rebels season 5" so Rebels is a must watch before Ahsoka. I'm sure there will be a lot of pressure (internally and externally) to start another live action show, but the order above will give you all the context and character introductions for the full experience. Stay the course

When this series premiered. I didn't know what to think about it. I was thinking it would be some kind of watchable, but not really memorable, content. At the end of 12 episodes this is some of the best Star Wars content ever made in my opinion. Win or lose I am happy this show was nominated for an Emmy for Best Drama Series. The Mon Mothma scene with Perrin and the driver was priceless. I am wondering for season 2, (I have no idea) is she going to have some kind of breakup with her family when she must choose the Rebellion or her family. Or will she be discovered and must leave in order not to be arrested by the Empire. I am hoping Season 2 explores this. The Maarva video and sparking the crowd to riot was really well done. You could really get a sense of the budget for this, there were a lot of people there. In the streets, on the rooftops etc. Will they show the Syril and Dedra wedding in Season 2? 😊 I really like the evolution of Cassian’s character over the season. The recording by Nemik is inspirational, Brasso repeating the words of his mother, freeing Bix, seeing Luthen there to kill him. It really go to show his evolution over the year. They did say at Star Wars Celebration before season 1 there would be no K2 but since you didn't know that ... At least they did show some K2 units running around. I am guessing Leida is going to be okay with the whole arranged marriage thing. I am sure its going to be explored in season 2. I am guessing season 2 will not involve going to Ferrix. From a plot standpoint I sense there is no need. I am curious how will the Empire will respond to the events there. I think there will be some conversations about it without actually going there. I am hearing production is paused due to the actors strike. If you were wondering what those things that Andor was forced to work on in the Narkina Five prison, now you know.
