calling it "blame" makes the weight of that scene and Wilhelm's emotions disservice imo. He did not blame Reinhard this time. He 100% acknowledged Reinhard was right and he did not kill Theresia. He was just scared and bewildered by the lack of doubt Reinhard had in what was the right thing to do. Reinhard completely dehumanizing himself caused Wilhelm to dehumanize Reinhard as well in turn and resign his hope in the humanity left in Reinhard.

I read that final scene with Wilhelm differently. He uses the full title and formal -dono honorific when addressing Reinhard. I feel like this is Wilhelm detaching any feeling and emotion from Reinhard and addressed him as just the hero. It's like the scene with Puck and Reinhard in Season 2 with the alternative reality where they fight and Puck has the line of "You are a hero, and a hero is all you'll ever be". It always hits me as a backhanded compliment. Like, you'll save the day, but you'll never be human. Which is one of the things we see Reinhard struggle with, and why he's happy a couple episodes back where Subaru says he'll fill in the gaps that Reinhard is lacking. Reinhard appreciates that Subaru treats him as human. Wilhelm, to me, in this scene, gives up trying to ever connect with Reinhard as a human again. Who knows though, I look forward to seeing how the Astrea family continues to interact going forward.

Can't help but feel that the fact that we already like Willhelm from S1 has blinded you guys to what that final scene with Reinhart really was. It seemed to me like Willhem was blaming Reinhart for killing his wife again, despite knowing that he is wrong to do so. He is choosing his grief and anger over his reasoning and putting even more distance between himself and both his son and grandson. Like I still love Willhelm but it is clear that ever since Theresia died he hasn't been a good dad or granddad to his family.

Something that was not explicitly said but shown, is that the corpses are actually snapshots of their prime and not from the moment they died.

I still hope we get EX 2&3 as OVA's or something. Wilhelm and Theresia's backstory is so goated it would be criminal to not adopt those novels.

In this episode, the all reason for the conflict within the Van Astrea family is explained if you pay attention and connect it with something else already explained in a past episode. Very simple, direct episode that works so well to "complete" the family's ark..

I’m ready to cry yet again and can’t for their reaction to the Pandora reveal especially since they just Re:Watched Season 2 before going into this Season
