Agreed, the only thing they need to be told is clearing up mistranslations, of which there are a couple

Based BladeDragon. No elaboration or extra info needed by this pair. The anime will reveal or clarify eventually, and if its cut completely, then it's not needed to follow the anime's take on the story. The most any should say is 'there was more to this in the LN, it is worth the time to read if you want a deeper perspective on the story.'

I already changed my comment, you don't have to convince me of anything. If what you say is true then you can't mention anything about a show in the synopsis without 'spoiling' a story. If the line is that vague then apparently telling them it's an isekai is a 'spoiler', as 'why don't you let them figure that out'. Or people telling them in mushoku tensei there are a lot of uncomfortable sexually related scenes is a spoiler, it is vague enough that they don't know where the show is going to go but still prepares them to think about the show in a way they can still enjoy it. If what you say is true then no discussion at all can be had even as they watch the show as future knowledge colors all of your thoughts anyways.

Yes, isn’t it suppose to translate to “The Witch of Envy”?

Would you want them to come to that conclusion on their own rather than having someone tell them that the show's theme is abc?
Several shows reveal their true theme the further you go and sure you could argue that it's just 'a theme', but nonetheless it's still a puzzle piece that can be figured out or discuss vs having someone establish it

I changed my comment since you all are worried. Though, I don't think discussing the themes of a show is spoiling it. Would you say that saying the themes of Naruto are 'Believe in and protect who is dear to you', 'Never ever give up on your dreams', or 'Every evil person can change and has good in them' is spoiling? No, because it doesn't actually tell you exactly what is going to happen. Or that saying that the lessons of Berserk is to 'face your demons'? No that's silly.

Dunno if you will see this, but I would HIGHLY recommend swapping over to the Directors Cut episodes for Season 1. They double up (I admit your reactions are so good I would enjoy the double lengths lol) and have some cuts and edits that make the whole first season flow just *chef's kiss*. Its amazing. The "regular" season 1 that you are watching now is still really good, and its mostly the same, but having watched both versions several times, I think the Directors Cut beats out the regular cut in every way.
Either way, cant wait to see what you guys think of everything that happens in this show!

'No spoilers'... Dude you are spoiling a lot of themes that the show will explore later in the story

I will say right now, I help translate the WN. I don't care about elaborate details or cut content. I think they do a good enough job on their own figuring stuff out that they don't need us to hold their hands. That said, "Jealous Witch" is a mistranslation.

I am really looking forward to your reaction to Re:Zero. It's one of my favorite shows ever.
That being said, I would advise you to watch the directors cut. I will enjoy your reactions either way but you will miss some content by not watching the directors cut.

What do you mean no spoilers? This comment definitely spoils a little.

You are explaining aspects of the show that happen in the future, how do you view that as not partial spoilers?

So multiple things to cover real quick.
(Edit: Apparently people think talking about themes of a show is spoiling so I changed my comment to fit that. The spoiler section of my comment only talks about the morals of the show not specific events.)
No Spoilers Section:
If you guys watch the director's cut, you might have a better experience. Every episode is put into groups of two that are meant to be watched together. (ex: 1a and 1b, etc.), the animation is much crisper and there are minor changes to make the show flow a little bit better. Not too late to switch over and start midway through. If you are watching on Crunchyroll it is labeled as Season 2 director cut but it is Season 1. You would start Episode 2 at 23:03 of the director's cut to continue where you left off. Also, there is a secret scene at the end of the final episode of season one director cut that is not included in the original season 1 that is kind of best to watch before season 2 even starts.

Love your guy's reactions and your discussions, and this show is probably one of my favorite shows ever. It covers a lot of morals and issues that when I was young I suffered with, and I believe a lot of men deal with growing up; depression, and feelings of worthlessness, and trying to be better. It's similar to Mob Psycho in that manner. Subaru, I believe is a much more flawed character than Mob, though he is definitely enjoyable.
