At this point in the manga, he's already woken up (and has been awake for multiple chapters), so I'll be curious to see if that's an intentional difference. If the anime hadn't skipped the manga panels where people were reacting to Gremmy's meteor, we could have had clarity on whether Yhwach is still asleep or if he woke up off-screen.

2023-08-21 00:01:53 +0000 UTCThe animation that was put into this episode was great and the way they added kenpachi as a kid when slicing that meteor was just perfect.. the animator that did this scene is amazing for the job he put into Kenpachi’s Character. I like how the new animation art style is adding that flashback of a character’s childhood. Grammy is a strong Quincy but the way you imagine the outcome can ruin what he couldn’t achieve and lost for the monster that he created in Kenny. That last scene was top tier bc Gremmy never had a physical body but the brain was doing the work. 10/10 episode

Bazz-B stared at the meteor and screamed 'What did that idiot Gremmy do!?', Jugram (right handman, blond quincy) screamed to some soldiers to protect Yhwach, Askin (aizen look alike) said that that's why they should have kept Gremmy locked up, and Renji stared at the meteor wondering what the hell was going on lol.
