Audio Only: Doodley at the Oscars 2023 (Scrapped Video)

Hi! Read below for context, otherwise you're about to hear some cringey audio where I talk to myself for 8 minutes.

For the past week I was starting to put together a video about the Academy Award nominees for Best Animated Feature. I was partially driven by the desire of putting Doodley behind a podium and talking to a fake audience as though he's hosting, hence the first few minutes. It gets kinda sarcastic and snarky since the Academy is known for not caring for animation.

However, in addition to some other private things coming up this week that ended up taking my time, I kind of lost confidence in my script while editing the audio. I feel like there's a lot more I want to say than just "this film is good, please go watch it" which is always what these end up being.

I just don't feel like I'm a reviewer or critic! I've come to realize that I think I want to talk about concepts in animation and art as a whole and use media as an example of those concepts, rather than try to think of things to say about specific media. It's something almost no other Youtuber is doing and I feel more confidence in my scripts when I do so.

(Also, I realized there's a copyright risk with making a video full of clips from recently released movies. Whoops.)

That said, I wanted to drop the audio here so it's not lost forever. Let me know what you think. Maybe I'm just overthinking things? The video wouldn't be done in time regardless though, so ultimately I don't think it's worth it to tie a video like this to a specific event if it won't be done by then.
