Virgin River 3X3: Spare Parts and Broken Hearts
Added 2025-08-14 00:14:37 +0000 UTCSo, we still have no real update on Hope. The longer she's gone, the more I assume she's not on the show anymore. Sigh.
Mel and Jack are having a perfectly pleasant morning in bed when the mail carrier interrupts to deliver a letter from Mark's sister. It's a picture of an ultrasound denoting her pregnancy. I was immediately annoyed thinking she did this because Mel didn't give her the ring. Mel (at the time) didn't seem to think so, but it didn't stop her from getting upset over the announcement.
We also find out that Lily has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. It's incurable, but there are some options that could extend her life a bit. She asked Mel to be her emergency contact as she's not ready to tell anyone else yet. Mel agrees, but encourages her to tell others, as she's going to need the support. I think it's probably a 50/50 shot at this point that Mel ends ends up with Chloe and she and Jack raise her together. But maybe that's just what I want to happen.
Meanwhile, Doc is done with waiting to figure out what's going on with Hope and books a flight to Atlanta, planning to drive the rest of the way to find her. Jack and Mel both try to talk him out of it (SC is totally flooded and no one has power and he's just kind of looking for a needle in a haystack), but he's insistent. He refused to go anymore time without knowing where Hope is. So, the sewing group offer their help. One will housesit while he's gone, another will take him to the airport, someone donated a survival kit. It's really sweet.
However, when he's about to get picked up for the airport, Lily runs up to him saying she's got Hope on the phone. She wasn't able to get through to him. Unfortunately, all we see is Doc yelling into the phone since the service is bad. But, at the very least, we know she's alive.
Lizzie's ex shows up and she's giving him too much time of day. I was just starting to feel okay about her and now this happens. He wants her to move back to LA with him so she can help him open a nightclub. And she doesn't say know. Shortly after they show up at the bar together, we see Ricky heading to the Marine sign up office looking for info. I could be wrong, but I feel like it was always his plan to join up, right?
We also find out that Paige has been constantly on the run. Her BIL keeps getting close to finding her. She's afraid and sends Preacher Christopher's medical records and a form claiming he's in charge. That doesn't sound good. I really hope things work out and she comes back though. I liked her and Preacher together. Also, I swear, my heart literally hurt when Christopher ran in all excited about the sleepover and we knew Preacher couldn't let him go. But, I love what we did in exchange. Maybe we can just invite Owen over to our house instead. Also, why do the kids think Christopher is weird? He seems like a normal kid to me.
And Charmaine continues to a super bitch. But what's new about that. It seems like she went out of her way to show Jack that Mel was keeping things from him. However, I love the aftermath of it. We finally get some good communication on a TV show! He confronts Mel about it. She admits it. He asks why. She lists the reasons why she thought it was the right thing to do. He asks her to respond differently next time and she agreed. Done. Seriously. Why is this hard? TV shows take note. Find other ways of making drama other than people not talking about their issues.
Oh, also Brie spend the day with Brady after what was supposed to be a one night stand. Seems like she might actually like him. We also find out that she quit her job which Jack is shocked about.
