Sons of Anarchy 5X4: Stolen Huffy

I was stupid enough to think I might be able to make it through this episode without crying. Ha.

Okay, somebody needs to explain to me what happened in the garage with Gemma, Carla, and Tara. I know that Gemma is manipulating Tara, but I don't have any idea how getting her to fight Carla helps her. I mean, Carla gets beaten on, but Gemma could have done that herself and it would probably have been more satisfying for her. I don't know what the end game is here. But, they make a pretty big deal about it, so I know it's got to mean something. Help!

So Gemma, Carla and all the girls end up in jail after the raid. Wendy shows up to bail Gemma out. And Wendy was right when she was all 'wow, your life must be a mess if I'm your emergency contact.' Seriously, how the mighty have fallen. (I was talking Dan about this last night, I was like, remember back in S1 how much I was enjoying Gemma, now, I want to stab her in the goddamn face with an ice pick. Lol.) Anyway, the girls all blame Gemma for beating up Emma. But Nero still seems to be okay with her.

They get back to the studio to find an eviction notice, and Carla blames Gemma and Emma. They all think that Emma called Vice and had them raided. Jax and Chibs show up and ask Nero how they can help and he asks them to find Emma and make sure his crew doesn't kill her. But, Carla overhears this and sends the crew herself. So, they all end up at the motel at the same time. Jax throws her on his bike and tries to get her to safety, but she makes them crash (accidentally) and they end up in a gun standoff on someone front lawn.

Jax pretends that SOA want her dead too and he should be allowed to handle it. Eventually, the other guys agree, but claim they want proof, her thumb and one of her boobs. Jax seems bewildered by this, but agrees nonetheless. They get her back to the clubhouse and Nero is all like, I know who did this. Carla, it was you. And she was all like, yup. Then, Emma goes over to Gemma and tells her she didn't have sex with Clay. And she didn't call Vice. She's not a rat. You feel really stupid now Gemma, don't you?

Anyway, this episode should actually be about Opie's funeral (but this other shit happened too). They bring him to the clubhouse to say their goodbyes and I probably cry more than Lyla. Which I don't know if she was crying over Opie, or how hard her life is going to be now. They did not have a good relationship. I get being sad and upset, but it seemed like she was way over the top for this. (Says the girl who cried over a fictional person herself 😳).

During the wake, Jax pulls Nero aside and asks him if he wants to get into business with him. He likes the model he's built and Jax has a ton of girls via Cara Cara who could do much more business if they had a booker. He's got a location picked out and is willing to take care of all the upfront costs. After that, they split everything 50/50. The only caveat is that Nero has to stay away from Gemma. Which, after a moment of contemplation, he agrees to. Damn Gemma. You got passed over for a business deal. Again.

I wonder if the rest of this season is just gonna be me ragging on Gemma.
