finally something special for Halloween and I really like the style of the new Vestal skin even more than the original, although maybe that's because I love that Halloween vibe, boo Ha Ha ＼( ^▽^ )／

2025-11-01 21:17:27 +0000 UTCVestal still had some animation issues even after her 1st rerelease so that was warranted ;) But more than this is, I think, the evolution of Hazu's artstyle that motivate the most this kind of rework : It's technically much better, but the artstyle itself also got a lot closer to vanilla DD. Take a close look at occultist for example : She's probably the one of Hazu's earliest work that held up the best, helped by the fact that her animations are impecable, but her artstyle kinda is at odd with the game - her lines are much... Thiner, the details finer... The game artstyle that relies on roughter, thicker traits to define their characters, wich by necessity means less details. Arrrr, the Houndmaster ! The work is great but the design just won't click with me sadly. It's quite a dumb reason : I play the game vanilla with only Hazu's related skins. So, well, the game has human-animal hybrids both in the lore, quite a lot of them actually, and... Well, they're all monstruosities. I mean, technically the one you get to play lore-wise is quite literally called "The Abomination". So it ends up being weird to just have one like this for me. But I guess that it you play with LLE content it doesn't really break the immersion lol

2025-11-01 14:37:43 +0000 UTCAt first, I thought it was kind of weird how the Houndmaster opens his mouth like “he~” when he moves. But the more I watched it, the cuter it looked. As for the Vestal, I never really understood why she needed a remake since the original was already pretty. But after using the remake for a while… she’s actually really beautiful.
