Heya, folks!
We're closing the first chapter of our comics adventure with a small, reflective comic about a superheroic celebrity using his last months on Earth to personally bring about a better world--starting with a face-off against a toxic chemical plant. Art by the incredible Raven Stark.
This story actually had an interesting evolution. It began as an absurdist comedy--but for some reason, I wasn't satisfied with the result. It felt shallow. As a series of unavoidable factors delayed its production for a few months, I continued to roll the concept around my head--and landed on the mortality angle. This new script was written in a single night.
Confronting the specter of death as someone who spent a lifetime trying to inspire change for a better world is a bit of a tough thing to convey in two pages, but I hope the emotion at its core resonates.
Anyway! Story aside, you'll find both versions of the script in the behind-the-scenes content package, included alongside the high-quality PDF of the final comic. They're attached to this update.
For those interested in our ongoing game adventures: Dog Airport Game is currently going through the console certification process. So, the next build y'all will receive at the appropriate tiers will be a choice between a complimentary Xbox key, and a complimentary Steam key. It'll be the final gosh-dang version!!
In the meantime, progress on Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator is spinning back up in high gear after reaching near-completion on a ~secret project~ I'm excited to reveal in the near future.
We're making the full menu-to-ending loop for SWOTS as I write this. Where you can now, in the current build, play the core game and trade with weird figures across the universe, in the next few weeks, you'll receive a build where you can go from the title screen (which looks so rad, y'all don't even know), to the main gameplay flow, to reaching an ending consequence for your trading adventures--and return back to the main menu. It's a huge milestone in the overall completion of the project, and essentially means we can spend the rest of the development time on the game building more content within the completed framework we've established. Next up after that pass is making the Reputation system matter, and chart your progress throughout the game.
There's a lot of exciting times ahead, and this is the tip of the iceberg. Thanks for your ongoing patience and support--it means the world.
