Severing Time & Space Cover Update

I haven't been given the finished artwork for the cover yet, but because I wanted to have the title ready for when I do get it, I decided to create a mockup with the unfinished art.

This is what I have so far. I spent several hours trying to figure out how the cover should look. I went through many fonts and eventually realized the best way to create the cover would be to play with the text spacing instead of just changing fonts. Fortunately, I've been using Clip Studio Paint for this. It's really useful for grouping text and moving individual letters around.

The color palet isn't finalized and liable to change depending on how the finished cover art turns out, but I'm pretty satisfied with the text itself.

Yeah. My thoughts were I wanted to have a title that only made sense after you've read the story for a while. There will be a certain moment in my story where I'm hoping readers will go "Oh! So that's why his title is Severing Time & Space!" It's kinda like an Easter Egg for my readers.

OK, makes sense in that regard. My take on it has been from the perspective of someone who has never read a cultivation novel before. The picture doesn't convey anything about time or space. If the man's hands were glowing, or some sort of distortion around the women. It might help the average person randomly coming across the book to have something remotely tie the concept of time or space into the image. Again, this is 100% your book, so my opinion is just that, opinion. I have made a book called Seeker Series and the image is just a magic woman and a Halberd weilding guy... so the title doesn't always have to match the image for obvious reasons lol.

Wu Jian hasn't even started cultivating yet, but his ability is going to be the ability to manipulate space. His friend, Wu Meiying, has power over time. Severing Time & Space is the title because it is symbolic of the powers they wield and what they'll be doing much later in the series.

To be honest, yes. For the average person 99% of the time when space and time are mentioned in the same line, it means outerspace or raw magic. Doesn't mean you can't keep your title, just means you will confuse the crap out of a new reader. I haven't read any of the story because I hate spoilers lol, but does the book MC do a lot of severing of time and space with cultivation?

So you think the title is more fitting of a sci-fi than a cultivation fantasy?

It is hard to be wholly original with art since there is so many images out there it's unreal. However, this looks super similar to other martial arts covers. Also, from a purely consumer side of things, the title and the actual image are at odds. The title would make most people think about actual outer space. That, or some sort of magical component to the image. Just trying to give constructive feedback, even if I personally like the image.
