THE TANK - TIMELINE UNKNOWN

The Tank is a singular entity across timelines, and while it is certainly likely there are more Tanks out there, none have yet been discovered. The Tank simply appeared in our reality one day.

In most ways, The Tank does not seem to be a living thing, instead appearing as a construction made from glass and metal. It appears to be a twelve foot wide by thirty foot deep space, with a solid roof and platformed floor. There’s a door at one end of The Tank and a small step leading up to this entry point. Above the door is a plaque, but the text on this rectangular sign is scribbled in a language that defies translation.

Close inspection of The Tank on a microscopic level reveals that the structure is, in fact, made of living cells. These cells appear to get their sustenance from light, but no attempts to remove light and harm The Tank have been made.

Any living subject who enters The Tank will find nothing out of the ordinary so long as the door is open. When the door is closed, however, a subject will immediately begin to interact with some kind of humanoid creature within structure. These interactions can vary, from fear to awe to curiosity, and are witnessed by those outside of the structure. There are cases of the invisible creature interacting with visible objects, as noted from outside, which gives credibility to the idea that there is, in fact, something inside The Tank. Conversations with the entity seem one sided, as only the subject can be heard, but they often seem to be deep philosophical debates with an odd sense of recognition between parties.

The strangest part, however, comes when a subject exits the tank. Upon opening the door again, anyone inside The Tank will claim they stood for mere seconds before leaving again, with no memory of their conversation. Even when shown outside video evidence, it is often difficult to convince those within The Tank that they experienced anything unusual.

If two or more living entities enter The Tank and close the door, there is no effect.

Those who have a conversation with The Tank’s entity do not report any initial side effects or changes. However, their dreams will become remarkably vivid over the next few days. Recordings of these dreams have revealed an unusual amount of accurate future predictions.
