Pendragons are insects from a nearby office-based timeline, who have somehow wandered into our reality through a timeline tear and continued to flourish. While there are plenty who despise non-native species invading any reality that is not their own, few stand at odds against the adorable pendragon.

These creatures measure approximately five and a half inches long, the same size and elongated shape of a standard ink pen. Their bodies are perfect cylinders, eventually transforming into a sharp pointed cone. When this cone is shut it appears the same a typical pen, but pendragons can open and close this beak when hunting for food. The makeup of a pendragon’s beak is incredibly solid, constructed from a metal alloy that is unknown to this timeline.

The main physical differentiators between pendragons and a standard pen are the four large wings protruding from the middle of their bodies. Pendragons use these to fly with incredible dexterity and speed, hunting for smaller insects and various garden pests. When this creature catches its prey it will break the meal down into a stark black ink.

Pendragons possess limited intelligence, but still much more than any normal insect. They are capable of drawing simple doodles or writing basic messages. Because of the creature’s kind demeanor, these are almost always sweet and encouraging. They will draw things they see around the garden, or say something like ‘beautiful day today.’ It should also be noted that pendragon ink is easily washable, so while many folks enjoy leaving these scribbles up, others are free to wash them off with nothing more than water.
