It’s the best sketch I’ve done in a while - tho the pose is totally cribbed from another artist’s pic that I have in my “for sketch practice” folder.

The story of me and that folder is pretty funny. I wanted furry art to help me refine my style - Precocious style is a comic style, with no burden to be anything more than simple, non-distracting, often non-Euclidean 2D, and thus very different than furry commission drawing - so I went browsing furry a pile of furry artists with little sorting at first. My innocence was quickly lost. (I shame every kink now. Gross.) All I wanted when I started was information on how you handle drawing anthro necks - cuz the comic style of two thin lines isn’t enough - and the lesson I got instead was… no one gives a damn about anatomy as long as it meets their kink. This is NOT helpful to me!

So the joke is I sorted through a bajillion porn pics, and walked out having saved only the most vanilla poses. With the extra issue of the deeply grim realization that men REALLY hate women. I wanna draw cute ladies. Being straight, but also ace, my “kink” is ladies dressed in whatever makes them happy, feeling cute, with no man anywhere near them to ruin their day.

So how do you find cute pics to work from, if so many lady pics are rude or gross? Either sort through thousands of furry pics, letting your soul burn… or just look up femboys. They look like ladies, pose like ladies, and the main difference is where the lumps under the clothing go. And they are treated with infinite more respect than women. I think the pic used for this Nate sketch was a femboy.

A useful art hack, I guess, but… grim.

On a slightly related topic, I've been trying for a while to make a 3D model of Bud Oven. Most of it isn't actually made from references of Bud himself. He has the body from an image on your old FurAffinity page, hands from a convention poster you drew, and Jacob's feet. So if you really need an art hack, you could make an arrangement of individual body parts you like, and trace over those. Incidentally, I'm still struggling to figure out how exactly Bud's ears attach to his head.

I'm not sure you read that right, heh.

Relieved to hear you found your hack. I like to see artists creating what they want to create - it's much more interesting variety that way, and I've found other people experiencing fulfillment is the only thing that brings me real joy. It also sounds like you identified furry femboys as your target market for your future commissions business. You have my moral support for pursuing this dream.
