I think you would enjoy the Lawrence of Arabia film it is one of the most cinematic British films, also this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Dambusters raid, there is a film but maybe a documentary may be better.

2023-07-01 07:21:08 +0000 UTCThanks for the pt2 upload. In reality they didn't sing as most of the soldiers would not have known that famous Welsh song. The regiments full name at the time was 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot. They were based in Wales for a time but most of the men were recruited from England. Two years later in 1881, the regiment assumed its later name of South Wales Borderers.) A twelfth VC could have been awarded. Colour Sergeant Bourne who was way younger than Nigel Green being only 24 and the youngest senior NCO in the British army was offered a choice between the medal or a commission. He was the last living British survivor of the Battle and died in 1945 as a full colonel. At one point the BBC had a recording of his memories but sadly it has long been lost. British casualties amounted to 17 killed and 15 wounded. Zulu to 350 confirmed killed and about 500 wounded. Its worth watching the later prequal, 'Zulu Dawn', which shows a total contrast to the well organised defence of Rorke's Drift!
