Belated "My First Message of 2023"

Hello, dear Patrons!

I apologize for not posting frequently on Patreon because—sorry if I wasn't clear—Patreon is for the scanlation side of Lazy Lily, so I don't post anything related to our fansubs (if ever), Aikatsu! music rips, and monthly-ish updates for Lazy Lily. If you want to know what's happening around Lazy Lily, content-wise at least, please don't forget to check out the blog once in a while!

Now, to my message to you.

I can't thank you enough for supporting me and Lazy Lily Fansubs with your patronage. The money I receive from Patreon monthly went to my groceries and I am able to get a week's worth of food. 1 week of food is, well, for just for 1 week, but it's a big help at lessening my monthly expenses. Hot damn, I love pork chops... *ahem* My monthly salary as a courier isn't great, but it's enough to keep up with the bills, food, and for a bit of indulgence like, I dunno, Steam games maybe, and your patronage made my life easier with a week's worth of groceries. Now I admit I was being careless with my finances, like buying fastfood instead of cooking food, or spending money on my hobbies (gunpla in particular); something I'm not overly proud of.

After my father passed away in 2020, I end up being the custodian-of-sort of the family home, and the home, uhhhhh, to put it bluntly, is a rotting piece of small real estate that is slowly falling apart, and I've been keeping the house intact largely on my own. Electrical problems, water leaking, patching up holes in the ceiling, keeping pests from entering, unpaid bills, and many more. It cost a lot of money in maintaining the house and my salary now barely cover the additional costs. My room looks like a rundown shack (you'll find pictures of it in one of my old posts in the blog), and I can't fix it because the rest of the house is falling apart.

Yeah, my salary is only good enough for consuming local goods and food, but not enough for high-end things like computer parts, and importing manga/doujinshi. I can get some imported stuff if I really wanted to, but not without sacrifices. If you've seen me begging for a GPU or for computer parts, well, this is the reason why—I can't afford them, and I'm very ashamed for constantly begging and asking (same thing?) for stuff. Right now I'm struggling at making ends meet and my carelessness and vices remind me that I have a big responsibility now, and every cent matters by the day. I'm very thankful and eternally grateful for your patronage for softening the blow; especially when food prices are high right now. Without you, I might've given up and went back to living a boring-but-safe normie life.

With that everything said, me, and the staff of Lazy Lily Fansubs—who are the true MVPs—will continue giving you content, be it Sakura Trick, Aikatsu, Yuri-centric manga/doujinshi, or any future projects we find fancy, and hopefully after reading the last page of a manga chapter, or watching the last few seconds of a fansub, you'll feel satisfied, feel you got your money's worth, and will ask for more. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
