yeah. I did some postgrad courses on machine learning and messed with some open source AI development a couple years ago, and you're absolutely correct. One of the things that I try to hammer into everyone is that the AI language models like ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini etc fundamentally CANNOT *know* anything. Some of them have routines that run outside the neural network model itself to do a quick web search and feed the top results into the model's input to summarize, but the model itself is really a kind of advanced next-word-prediction engine. The primary design factor was to make them able to put words together in a way that seems natural. If that results in any accurate information being reported, it's secondary to that. As far as ketamine, yeah it's one of the popular techbro drugs in the same way that "micro-dosing" LSD or shrooms is or possibly was. They tell themselves that using it daily makes their brains work better. The truth behind that excuse is that ketamine in a clinical setting has been shown to be very effective at treating depression and PTSD. I'm doing ketamine therapy myself for both of those. The way it's done that seems to be most effective is IV drip or intramuscular injection, with an initial induction of 6-8 sessions over 3-4 weeks followed by one session a month or less to maintain the effects. For me it's more effective than antidepressants ever were and I've only gotta go in once a month. And it's a very nice experience, like a spa day for my brain. For me a big part of it is the dissociated state lets me think about stuff that provokes a PTSD reaction (panic attacks etc) if I think about it outside the K hole. Then, once it's worn off, thinking about that stuff again just doesn't bother me as much as it did. So ketamine kinda removes some of the blocks that make it hard to deal with the root of some of my issues. Gonna start ketamine-assisted psychotherapy soon too, to see if it helps more. I completely get how the experience is addictive (K is not chemically addicting like opiates, it's more like weed where if you get addicted it's to how it makes you feel). But if you're snorting K every day you're spending way too long in a state disconnected from reality, and frequent abuse like that has some serious medical side effects too. But ketamine used properly saves lives. That said I kinda hope those side effects catch up to Elon. Dude doesn't deserve a working bladder after all the crap he's done.

chatgpt and other ai not the same as google at all unfortunately. theyre too focused on giving you an answer, even if its not totally accurate. Often times, it just scrapes a buncha mixed information from different google results and just puts it all together even if it doesnt make sense to. and if it cant really find any info, half the time it wont tell you and just make up some bull. Yall two should ask an AI about something yall actually really informed about, especially if its even slightly niche. All the holes in AI immediately show. Or ask it to form an opinion on something you know about following some kinda logic and itll also fail pretty catastrophically, dont matter if its google AI, grok or ChatGPT. Its kinda insane that anyone would really trust their own worldview to an ai the more you realize how faulty the stuff is, but thats the world we livin' in now. Also, on the techbro ketamine thing, Elon is known to abuse tf outta ketamine. Lotta people like to '''''joke''''' that Elons probably off a fresh hit of the stuff whenever he posts something wild on twitter only to delete it (when he sobers up) later. (it happens a lot. its kinda crazy.)

I feel like the ChatGPT storyline will be really hit or miss depending on the viewer. I work in Tech and thought it was a really great critique of the issue with the current iteration of generative AI. I enjoyed y'alls take on using AI as well.
