Totally recommend HELL HOUSE LLC if you’re interested in a good found footage-style horror. There are 3 others in the series that are all pretty decent.

You could try throwing in a cheesy/funny "scary" B-horror movie like The Giant Spider Invasion!

Start your dive into David Cronenberg, if you haven't already. His filmography isn't traditional horror, but he is considered to be the grandfather of the genre of "body horror", essentially creating it, and elevating "psychological horror" to it's highest level. Start with the following (my suggested order, based on how many times I've seen these films): * THE FLY (1986) * eXistenZ (1999) * NAKED LUNCH (1991) * DEAD RINGERS (1988) * SCANNERS (1981) * VIDEODROME (1983) * CRIMES OF THE FUTURE (2022) * THE BROOD (1979) * RABID (1977) * SHIVERS (1975) As well, his non-"horror" films are also great watches...but even his "dramas", if you can call them that, have utterly horrific and violent aspects to them: * A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE (2005) * EASTERN PROMISES (2007) * CRASH (1996) * MAPS TO THE STARS (2014) * COSMOPOLIS (2012) * M BUTTERFLY (1993) * SPIDER (2002) * THE DEAD ZONE (1983) If there are other Cronenberg fans, is THE FLY (1986) and eXistenZ (1999) the best to start with? SCANNERS (1981) might be a strong consideration as well.. And, BTW, his films heavily influenced both GINGER SNAPS and SPLICE, especially THE FLY (1986) which is considered a masterpiece right up there with ALIEN (1979) and THE THING (1981). Cheers, Todd

HELLRAISER (1987) and HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II (1988)

If you want some atmospheric, creeping dread horror to add to the list, 2015's The VVitch by Robert Eggers is amazing. On the complete other side of the spectrum, the Child's Play/Chucky movies are a riot and feature Brad Dourif gloriously hamming it up.

Host (2020) on shudder is terrifying.
