The Patreon: 2022

Hey everyone! First off, wanted to say thank you all so much for supporting the show and helping us reach our goal of $2000 a month! This, of course, means that we will be moving forward with making the 3DS Special. This will be available for all patrons at a later date — we have a lot of games to play! We will have a firmer idea of release timing after the holidays.

For those who have listened to this year’s GOTY episode already, you already know the news, but we have decided to do a little bit of restructuring when it comes to the Patreon tiers currently on offer. To cut right to it, here’s the current plan:  

-The $1 tier will get you all the patron bonuses up until now and including the upcoming 3DS bonus episode and Immortality spoilercast.  

-The $5 tier will get you everything in the first tier along with all upcoming Patreon bonus episodes and access to the Airtable. We may occasionally make some videos for this tier as well.

-The $10 tier will get you everything in the previous tiers plus along with an optional shout out in the show notes and an (eventual) merch discount  

The big thing here is we decided that all new patron bonuses will now only be available for $5 tier and up. There were a number of reasons for this switch. Mostly, we really love doing the show and have aspirations to do it full time and realized offering episodes for $1 was maybe selling ourselves a bit short given the time, effort, and cost that goes into them. We also feel strongly about not making any content cost prohibitive, but with our current schedules we’re not fully able to do more for the higher tiers, so this move just felt like the right decision.  

But like we wrote above, any Patrons who back the show for $1 (no matter when) will have access to all the current patron bonuses and the 3DS episode. We felt it was only right to have that episode be available to everyone who helped us reach our goal.  

The hardest part about writing these posts is not saying “thank you” a million times, but for real, THANK YOU ALL! The fact that we have a Patreon is still baffling and wonderful. Your support means the world, and please send us any and all feedback regarding this decision. The Patreon is a constant work in progress and nothing is ever fully set in stone. We hope, for now, this new setup works for everyone.
