Hey guys! First things first: I just made a post on Tumblr (eromancergames.tumblr.com) with new screenshots of the map scene and sprites (utilizing the fancy dynamic shadow thingy I just scripted). Secondly, I wanted to let you in on the details of what I've been working on for the release, as well as what's left. Some of the things I've accomplished since the last news update include: - Scripted story H scenes - Added additional artwork for said scenes - LOTS of improvements to the tileset artwork - Improved map layout to better handle the new sprites - Hardcoded keys for custom input instead of using RPG Maker's incredibly slow event system (was a bit of a pain, but resulted in a significant FPS boost) - Added key for swapping lead character on the map - Added key for toggling weather on/off (people with slow computers will thank me) - Added various events - Customized a shadow script to allow for dynamically sized shadows for character and event sprites - Added some tutorial tip kinda things - Various bug fixes - Added a game over screen - Added "ending" screens - Sent the game to TK for some preliminary testing, profited - Finalized prints and ordered some test prints for the $35 tier reward. More importantly, what's remaining to be done: - Still some events to be added - Some dialog to be added - Add tutorial battle messages - Add some status icons - A couple of interface fixes - Battle balancing - Testing and fixing any critical bugs found - Clean out the project folders and package it up Aaand I think that's it. Thanks for being super patient by the way. It won't be perfect, but I want your first impression of the game to be a good one and not one where you feel like you're wading through a buggy mess. Subsequent updates will definitely be more frequent. Anyways, I'll post back in a few days with details on the release once we've gotten a chance to test some more! Until then!
